An interesting little factoid has emerged from a new Fox News poll of U.S. voters: Personal sentiments are strong and defiant among many U.S. gun owners.
Question 46 in the wide-ranging survey of more than 1,000 registered voters asks if there is a gun in the household. Overall, 52 percent of the respondents said yes, someone in their home owned a gun. That number included 65 percent of Republicans, 59 percent of conservatives, 38 percent of Democrats and 41 percent of liberals.
But on to Question 47, addressed to those with a gun in their home: "If the government passed a law to take your guns, would you give up your guns or defy the law and keep your guns?"
The response: 65 percent reported they would "defy the law." That incudes 70 percent of Republicans, 68 percent of conservatives, 52 percent of Democrats and 59 percent of liberals...

It was supposed to be a three hour tour, but the weather started getting rough and the tiny ship was tossed! If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost!
I wounder where and when the “Second shot will be fired” to protect and defend the 2nd Amendment.
We stand at 100% at this location, no gun turn in today or ever.
Molon Labe
Good slogan.
They rightly got scared and backed down. The bill unveiled today IS NOTHING LIKE as harsh as the one suggested dec 27th.
Well done brothers, this was a good start.
My ancestors have been on American soil before it was a nation, helped fight and bleed for its birth, and fought in many armed struggles since then. My Cherokee blood ancestors were not afraid to die and defend their homeland from invading Europeans. My Scotch and English relatives were not afraid to pull the trigger on King Georges men and German mercenaries. My great great great grandfather stood his ground at Shiloh and Bull Run and was not afraid to pull the trigger on other countrymen. My grand uncles stood their ground and pulled the trigger on Japanese soldiers at Guadalcanal in the Pacific, German soldiers on Utah beach and the Arden forest in WWII, and above Germany in B-17s with the 8th AF starring down the Luftwaffe. My USMC Gunny Sgt. Father stood his ground and was not afraid to pull the trigger on Chinese and North Korean communist soldiers, and my cousins were not afraid to pull the trigger on the VC in S. E. Asia with Army special forces and another with the U.S.M.C. 9th division. My first Scout Master was a Pearl Harbor survivor from the USS California, a year later he was replaced by his friend and fellow Knights of Columbus member, a retired full Army Colonel and veteran of WWII and Korea. I was taught to shoot and hunt and love my country with these men who are mostly gone now. From the grave all of these men cry out to me and say stand your ground. I am not afraid to die for what is right and just. I am not afraid to risk all that I have to defend freedom and preserve the right to bare arms for my children, even if it costs all that I have. Semi auto rifles are already a compromise over what the military troops are armed with in comparison and the 2nd amendment specifically defends the right and need for me to have it and for my children to have them. The armed citizen is all that stands in defense of freedom and if you tell me that a tyrant could never take over in this nation in 2013, my answer to you would be to ask that question to my Cherokee ancestors, my revolutionary war ancestors, my civil war ancestors, my relatives who fought tyrants and communist forces in this century. Freedom is only a generation from being lost. Not one inch of ground and not one weapon will I give up to anyone that attempts to take them in any fashion while I breath.
When the government can pass laws that make otherwise law abiding citizens criminals, they can enforce them judiciously as they see fit. A Scooter Libby can do jail time whilst a Sandy Burglar gets a dunce hat. A politician can evade taxes while a middle class family man can be jailed for tax filing errors and penalty fee defaults. You nailed it 100% Tenacious.
A few days ago a Freeper posted, "I believe America is at that awkward stage. Its too late to work within the system and too soon to start shooting.
I would love Biden to ask me why I need an assult weapon. I would look him square in his eye and say, "Because I do not trust you."
sorry, but that’s a lame line in the sand.
You go ‘around’ the jack booted thug goons.
Straight out of Atlas Shrugged.
Bingo.
Nail on the head post.
So you presume to know the day and the hour? Good luck with that. Events have a way of overtaking even the most prepared. Just a simple truth.
I have a list. Hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to work my way through it. If not, well...
Yup. Don't fight the robots. Take the fight to the ones giving orders.
MH, great post thanks.
Question: Why do Lithuanians, Latvians, and Estonians pour motor oil on their flower beds?
Answer: They don’t want the guns buried there to rust.
Welcome to ATLAS SHRUGGED..
I have the same type of family.....No mistake.
You are spot on. I think we forced a real retreat from Feinstein in the nature and severity of her bill, but we need to keep them back on their heals and keep pushing back,,,HARD. We need pro gun legislation to counter and divert their attention and energy, or we will be on the receiving end again, and we don’t want to dig out of this situation again.
No confiscation, WHICH SHE WANTED, but we stopped COLD.
So good job Americans, but we are not done yet...
No, I'm afraid that this thing is going to get a lot more unpleasant before it gets better. A large number of liberals react to defiance with rage, especially when they get a taste of power, and will not be reasoned with. This fight is only beginning.
