I once took an oath to defend the Constitution, and it did not have an expiration date. When, and if, an egregious action such as firearm confiscation occurs, that is exactly what I am sworn to do.

AMEN!!!
My feeling exactly. I may not have been a Marine BUT
“ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE”, is a lot more than a statement, it is a way of life, I was USN by choice but I definitely have a ‘USMC state of mind’.

There are many of us and even those that still serve that take that Oath very seriously.
I will repeat from a previous post “I never un-took my Oath”
(if un-took is even a word)
I will hold all that have taken that Oath accountable with the same veracity that I upheld it while I was in Uniform and I expect to be supported by those that took that Oath with me.
How John Kerry stays out of Prison escapes me... how John McCain can wuss out escapes me... all I can do about him is pressure those that can do something... or have the power to do something and support the Swiftboat folks.
