What if we had a President that ran on the concept of "fundamentally changing" America, away from its founding principles, away from its traditions, and away from the Constitution?
What if we had such corrupt politicians that freedoms were reduced, slowly but surely eroded, or repealed?
What if the corrupt politicians and the anti-American President continued to oppress the people and suppress freedom?
Wouldn't a revolution only predicted, but necessary? In order to stay free, and preserve the Constitution - where politicians fail to defend the Constitution - then the people will need to defend it - by maintaining an armed citizenry. Isn't this also part of the intent behind the Second Amendment?
Will the roots of the Liberty Tree soon, once again, require fertilization by the blood of tyrants and patriots, to paraphrase one of our founders?
You have the freedom to keep and bear arms, but you don't need to - you should have the freedom of choice.
Gear up! Patriotism required.
We already have those.... ;-)
I would prefer to have the politicians afraid of the people, than the people afraid of their government.
Can supermax hold 300 million people.
Who’s gonna pay taxes if everyone’s dead or in jail?
I would prefer to have the politicians afraid of the people, than the people afraid of their government.
They are afraid of the people, it's just that all the people they are afraid of are on the left. Isn't it obvious?
I very much suspect that there was voter fraud in the last election. Add to that all the media bias. And, to be polite, much of what Obama is doing bends the Constitution.
But Obama won a relatively free election. He is the people's choice. This is not 1776. Obama is VERY bad for this country, but he is not George III (yet).
Unfortunately, at this point politicians ARE the government.
“We CAN do this again and restore our Republic.”
Not likely. Almost half the population doesn’t even bother to vote.
It’s not 1776. Anybody that works a job, uses a cell phone, has cable or internet, buys anything at all with a credit card, has a bank account, or even a light bill, leaves a trail that’s easy to follow.
It’s not going to be like the fantasy that seems to prevail here.
The general population will not view the “New & Improved Minitemen” as freedom fighters.
The media will paint any such actions as terrorist acts and every TV show from COPS to FN&F will make political hay promising to bring the terrorists in dead or alive.
There’s a lot of chest thumping here, but I’ve had personal experience with a situation like that through an aquaintance I once had. The guy seriously Pissed Off the FBI. Trust me, when they show up to ask you a few questions it’s disconcerting, even if you have no idea about anything. The FBI interviewed everybody this guy knew.
This isn’t Colonial Boston. Taking to the woods with your trusty musket isn’t going to do anything but get you on a terrorist list and all your assets frozen as well as causing a major amount of grief for everybody you’ve known in the last 10 years.
I believe that most people are pretty comfortable with the illusion of freedom. You know you’re free to do the the things that society approves.
As long as the TV gets 500 channels and the internet connection works everything is fine.
My 5th great-grandfather, John Carpenter, was George Washington’s neighbor near Mt. Vernon, travelled with him during his survey of the Western Reserve, fought with him in the French and Indian War and the Revolution.
I pray I have some of those genes in me as I suspect I’ll need them in the coming days.

President Obamas supporters love to call him the cool President, a no drama guy, and generally like to claim he is unflappable in office. Whatever the truth of that claim, there is one thing for sure: he doesnt sweat the small stuff. Like following the law. During his four years in office this president has shown he couldnt care less about the laws hes supposed to be governed by as president.
This lawlessness started all the way back before he even became president. It was widely discussed in 2008 that he blatantly violated campaign donations laws by refusing to put in controls on his website that would prevent illegal, foreign donations. And weve only just learned as 2013 began that his 2008 campaign was levied the largest fine ever imposed on a presidential campaign for violations of campaign laws. In January the nation learned that the FEC fined Obama $375,000 for campaign reporting violations.
Once he became President, Obama immediately began misuse his powers to control Washingtons regulatory machinery to pay back pals and warp rules for ideological reasons. This president generally wields his regulatory powers with kid gloves to pay off supporters while at the same time that velvety hand holds a cudgel to smite foes.
One of his very first moves when he was swept into Washington, for instance, was to begin a program to give big payoffs to his union masters.
His first move was to put a union operative in as the head of the Department of Labor. Hilda Solis had been a union stooge her entire career and that stoogery only increased when Obama took office and quickly put her in charge of the DoL. This is significant because the DoL is supposed to be an unbiased arbiter between labor and the business sector. Installing Solis as the Sec. of Labor signaled a move to turn the DoL into an adjunct of Big Labor instead of an unbiased arbiter and Solis quickly moved to use the DoL as a weapon against the business sector.
Immediately Obama changed union reporting rules that cut unions slack in reporting their financial situation to the government. No more would unions be expected to account for themselves. Instead, unions would be given all the cover they needed to hide funds and expenditures from both government and union rank and file members.
This wasnt his only pay off to unions. Hes continued to bend rules, vacate laws, dismantle transparency regulations, and turn a blind eye to union violations during his whole time in office.
Obama has also used Executive Orders to skirt both Congress and the law. Take for instance, Obamas attempt to implement the Disclose Act through the back door using an EO. The Disclose Act was an effort that failed in Congress but Obama thought he could just ignore Congress and implement it anyway.
This fits with Obamas announced policy that he would go around Congress whenever he feels like it.
Obama has also engaged in a strong campaign to misuse the Department of Justice for political purposes. His emplacement of Eric Holder as Attorney General was only the first move to turn the DoJ into a weapon against Americans he doesnt like. Writer and former DoJ lawyer J.Christian Adams has chronicled the extensive damage Holders DoJ has done to the country with his and Obamas politicization of the department.
In fact, the DoJ has been so ideologically pro-active that this month the federal government has been told to reimburse the state of South Carolina for court costs the DoJ unnecessarily caused as it illicitly attacked the state over its voter ID laws.
Obama has used the Environmental Protection Agency as a weapon repeatedly, as well. In only the latest example we find that a federal court has determined that the EPA overstepped its boundaries by idiotically claiming that water is a pollutant in order to force its will on state officials.
Another example of Obamas disinterest in following the law was his responsibility to report his upcoming regulatory changes, the last report of which was due in October but wasnt bothered with until December conveniently after the election. The earlier April report he never issued at all.
Then there was Obamas convenient change to the way the federal government defines poverty. Obama changed it so that poverty can never be shown to have gotten better. His new reporting scheme will forever define poverty as getting worse despite its actual condition either ways.
Obama also recently made a move to eliminate an embarrassing metric in the gathering of statistics issued by the Internal Revenue Service that shows how many Americans are moving, from where, and where to among the states. One can only assume the gathering of this metric was ended so that the steady flow out of highly taxed, deep blue states can no longer be tracked. In this way, Obama can help tax-hogging Democrats hide the fact that their policies are causing their states to lose citizens as those put upon folks move away to more prosperous, and usually lower taxed, states.
Sadly, no president before Barack Obama has violated the law, warped the regulatory scheme, and used his power to as ideologically as often as he has. None.
Suffice to say, there are many, many, many more examples like those Ive listed here. There have been so many that it would take a book or several to chronicle all Obamas ideological changes and violations of the law committed since 2008.
In fact, a few have made the attempt to elucidate that record.
To name just two, the aforementioned J. Christian Adams wrote a book titled Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department, detailing the abuse of power at the DoJ.
Another good book on Obamas lawlessness is Phil Kerpens Democracy Denied: How Obama is Ignoring You and Bypassing Congress to Radically Transform America and How to Stop Him.
Obamas lawlessness is so voluminous that even the book titles about the subject cant be short! And he isnt done yet, either. Thanks to the American electorate, he has another full four years to indulge his lawlessness.
The only end of writing is to enable the reader better to enjoy life, or better to endure it.

Here is my 5th Great Grandfather
Henry Dearborn was an American physician, a statesman and a veteran of both the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Actually, I understood it was fewer than that... about 25%. But I doubt we will ever know with any certainty. The bottom line is that it only takes a few to really ruin the plans of the aristocrats in charge.
Then you are neither wanted nor needed here.
Why? Because nothing less will change things. As you point out, the media and the establishment are all against us.
So go crawl into a hole and hope the coming sh*tstorm will pass you by...
And yet, some issues keep raising their imperial heads.
complaints against George III include:
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public Good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice
He has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harrass our People, and eat out their Substance.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our Laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation.
Because nothing less will change things.
Change things to what? The American Revolution is one of the rare revolutions that created a better country in its wake. The Russian revolution had pretty lofty goals, but it ended up putting Stalin in power. It's the same story in a lot of revolutions.
Perhaps a new revolution will be started by "patriots," but there's no guarantee that those who started it will end up on top in the end.
Excellent post, and excellent point at the end.
Jacques Mallet du Pan watched the work of the guillotine during the French Revolution, then made the famous comment "the Revolution devours its children".
“Why? Because nothing less will change things. As you point out, the media and the establishment are all against us.
So go crawl into a hole and hope the coming sh*tstorm will pass you by...”
I’m sorry if the reality of the thing got your feathers ruffled.
I’m a keyboard warrior. No poll is too frightening for me to Freep, unless it requires me to sign up, then I won’t do it because I don’t like getting spam.
The daydreams of another revolution or civil war or just that, daydreams.
But maybe you guys are right. Maybe it won't work. Maybe things aren't so bad right now and just maybe they won't get worse.
I'm sure the Austrians said the same thing in 1938...
'He' (as the founders called him or our government in our case) would have to start executing the good and honest people as they did to our founders.
All will be well.
