I'm fed up with the GOP. Lackluster performance the last few years. First they somehow let a relative nobody with no real experience beat them in 2008. Then they limp through 4 years allowing him to grind the Country down. Then they run another unsuccessful campaign against a guy with absolutely nothing going for him. obama had nothing on his record for 4 years - nothing that was a positive. Yet the GOP managed to lose to him and his machine, again. Beating obama in 2012 should've been like shooting fish in a barrel. Now they (the GOP Congress critters) cave on the fiscal negotiations.
Just register as independent. If the GOP conservatives court you then help them out. The hell with the rest.
Just wait, they'll leave you.
Crawl into a hole never to be heard from again. Same difference.
I left a long time ago. The GOP has ceased to be an effective vehicle for conservative principles.
gonna have to focus on making the GOP hold the line at the state and local level. We can do that and remain viable. If we don’t do that, kiss everything you care about goodbye. Abandoning them completely is a mistake for this reason.
Already left to be an Independent, back in 2011. I vote for the best candidate. Can’t think of one Dem I’ve voted for, however. Gee, wonder why not!
You kiddin’?
They left me years ago. I dumped them shortly thereafter.
I have been saying here for years that the GOP is not a Freeper’s friend and have been trashed wildly for saying it.
Now folks are beginning to wake up.
Direct.
To the point.
Accurate to a tee.
I agree.
I’d need to see a formal Tea Party political party to change the registration.
It is easier to conquer the Republicans from within and take over the party apparatus. We need another year like 2010.
I left in ‘92 right after Bush Sr. signed a budget that was $400 billion in the red. Voted for Marrou, Kemp, Bush, Bush, and Palin in the next five elections.
I thought it was a good thing to do when I did it back in 2007. Even more so now.
Dumping the GOP was the first thing I did after the election. Am now unaffiliated here in California. Decline to State basically. Since we have “open primaries” it doesn’t really have any effect except to send the message to the GOP — get conservative or get out.
Not that my vote ever counts in California anyway.
Of course I approve. Send the GOP a message and leave. NO MORE RINOs.
Don’t Leave! The GOP is going to give us a much better candidate than Romney in 2016. Rumor has it they plan to run Bob Dole.
In Canada, after Brian Mulroney, real conservatives destroyed the Progressive Conservatice Party, reducing it down to two seats. It took 20 years, and some reform to remake the party into something much more conservative.
We had the good fortune of not having to deal with Trudeau Liberals, who were interested in having a Soviet Canada.
My concern, if the constitutional conservatives abandon the Republican party, unfettered Democrats will move quickly to make ineffective the Constitution and, ensure permanent power for themselves. If I believed that there would be time to go through the process the conservatives, in my country, went through, I would whole heartedly support real conservatives walking away from the Republican party, and collapsing the whole thing.
However, I think it is still possible to remake the Republican party, from within. You just need to be willing to fight like a wildcat at every nomination meeting. We don’t need to win every Republican nomination, just enough of them.
The GOP has purged the tea party. The idea you can retake the GOP from inside is laughable. They will embrace Hispanics from now on like you can’t believe. They are moving to the left to be even more “moderate”.
The GOP is committing suicide.
Good advice.
I leftthem when they decided McLame was a good idea and crapped on Palin. They’re dead to me.
The Republican Party was formed to replace the Whigs, who couldn’t take a stand on the major issues of the day.
They did such a good job of replacing the Whigs that they have become the Whigs.
