To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks

I’ve been posting this sentiment for years here. He has tried to destroy the NYC public school system for years so that his millionaire buddies could clean up privatizing them. He has conducted a purge of the older teachers by whatever means possible—bringing them up on false charges of student abuse, having them given unsubstantiated unsatisfactory ratings, having their administrators harass and humiliate them in front of peers and students, deliberately starving the large older high schools of resources so that they would fail and he could replace the older teachers there with newbie cheap teachers as he broke up the old school into 4 smaller schools (without better academic results, mind you), etc. He had many of the older teachers put into gulags within the city, called “Rubber Rooms”. The vast majority of them there were political prisoners of vindictive administrators and had done NOTHING. They had to sit there all day under GUARD as though they actually were the criminals he named them. But after sham “hearings”, they could keep working in the NYC public school system if they paid fines of thousands of dollars, which constituted nothing more than common extortion. You are “dangerous to children” until you pay an $8,000 fine (the amounts were totally arbitrary, seemingly pulled out of the hearing officer’s nether regions), then you were miraculously cleansed of your “crime”. Bloombutt turned the Department of Education in NYC into a common criminal enterprise and nothing more. Now you walk through schools and find them virtually bereft of older teachers, populated almost exclusively by newbie untenured cheap teachers. Students now call their teachers and administrators by their FIRST NAMES. They sit in classes wearing hat, ipods hooked up even during lessons. The lessons are rigorously standardized, no more teacher creativity or individuality. They work almost exclusively in groups, they skirt taking the state Regents proficiency exams by submitting a totally b.s. “portfolio” of their year’s work, etc. There doesn’t seem to be much individual student work now, only “group work”. Perfect factories for good little Socialists like Bloomberg and his hero progressives. No wonder potential employers complain they can’t find people to fill jobs!
