Following last week's schoolhouse massacre in Connecticut, Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich announced he and other law enforcement officials will send letters to all Los Angeles gun buyers reminding them of city laws regarding safe storage of weapons and reporting if a gun is lost or stolen.
In a letter to Vice President Joe Biden, who is heading the federal task force looking at gun control and gun safety issues, Trutanich pledged his support and said he would be contacting gun buyers to advise them of city laws.
"This week, in an effort to keep guns out of the wrong hands, California Attorney General Kamala Harris, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and I will be sending letters to all Los Angeles gun buyers," Trutanich said.
The letters are being sent to people who have bought guns and are in the 10-day waiting period before they can pick up the weapons. The state Attorney General's office maintains a database of all gun owners who register when they purchase a handgun.
The letters remind buyers of the responsibility to report the transfer, sale, loss or theft of a firearm to the state Department of Justice, the City Attorney's Office said...

Only because I haven’t landed a job in Texas yet.
Just like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWucDHAphQ8
Please send one out to all the criminals to. The law abiding citizens don’t need to be reminded.
Send a letter back. Clearly state that since they have nothing better to do, like go to a range, during the 10-day waiting period they will be investigating ways to move themselves, their evil handgun and their tax revenue out of Los Angeles and quite possibly out of California altogether.
Let Kamala and Charlie read a few thousand of THOSE letters.

What do you do, where do you want to live and how much do you need to make? I’m a career counselor/recruiter from way back.
Wafer fab process engineer.
ABC (Anywhere But California) I would favor Texas, prefer smaller city over megalopolis, like the climate and geography of Austin, Houston would be OK, I could live in Dallas/Ft Worth.
Enough to live on, depending on area. With my skills and experience I could reasonably expect anything from 60K to 125K. More is better, of course!
Wanna resume?
Yes, that’d help. FReepmail me.
This is just a little friendly threat.
Sooo... what address will they be using to send the gang bangers their letters?
Idiots.
***Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich to send gun buyers a warning letter***
And this is from the state where the VOTERS turned down a GUN BAN back in 1982.
Since that day, Kali officials have been trying to find a way around the will of the people.
It would be too much like work for the City Attorney to prosecute criminals.
She’d rather go after the law abiding citizens...
She doesn’t go after the gang bangers, and instead lets them occupy areas of the city.
The criminals guns have been pre-registered by Eric the Corrupt over at DOJ....they don’t need no stinkin letter from LA.
Gluttons for punishment? Ignorance? Stupidity?
I'm sure that will put a quick and decisive end to gun violence in Los Angeles, won't it? Carmen, you're an idiot!
Wonder how long they have been collecting names and addresses?
When they start rounding up all weapons, whose doors do you think they'll kick in first?
Oh, I forgot, they're REGISTERED. How European of them.
I'm so glad I live in a free state.
