NRA membership is surging since the Sandy Hook massacre according to an internal document that was made known to James Rosen of FOX News. They are gaining roughly 8,000 new members a day which is unlike anything they saw even in the wake of Columbine.

It should also be noted - Following the Sandy Hook shooting most Americans (86%) want more action to identify and treat mental illness. Only 27% agree with Obama and Democrats that stricter gun laws are needed...

You bet. I quit them years ago over things they did, but I’ve decided to rejoin. The fight now is too important.
Name your favorite gun rights group here!
I rejoined also, after a period of absence (having been pissed off at the NRA over support of Dems in the Senate).
Also recently contributed $500 to the Second Amendment Foundation and made another contribution (already a member) to the NY State Rifle and Pistol Association.
I renewed my membership the day of the shooting. It’s tragic and evil but it’s so tragic and evil that can only reaffirm that this is no time to cast down our swords and shields.
Well, as a life member I couldn't see quitting them in the first place...
I was a member but stopped a couple years ago. I am going to see what they say on Friday, and if they don’t cave to PC rhetoric, I am rejoining.
I’ve never been a member, but strangely I sent in a new 3 year membership request in response to a mail solicitation, just the day before the latest mentally unbalanced whacko attack. So, guess I got in a day ahead of the crowd.
2012 is not a conventional year for politics. Based on economy Obama should not have won, but things are so bad people have to chose between rugged individualism or gov safety net. People leaned safety net.
Same with guns, people can see local gov cutbacks on cops. They are going to decide between security or disarmament. IMHO liberals will be surprise. People across all parties will lean security. Gun shows and gun sales reflect this. Rasmussen Poll also show most Americans get it, and are asking questions on why aren’t mentally deranged people being put away and left to parents and public to deal with until it is too late? It will be ironic, the factors that help Obama win (fear and insecurity) will be the same factors that prevent gun control. There is hope for gunowners. Man up and renew NRA membership, or join.
I just joined for the first time. It is time to choose sides and let the politicians understand what the stakes are.
The Gun Owners of America (GOA). NRA. And The 2nd Amendment Foundation
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
They are all good, but the NRA has the most clout and is the most effective.
Thanks, and here’s links—
there’s a writeup about GOA at HuffPo, it sez in the search results.
They will be gaining a new member..ME..on Friday once I hear what they have to say. That is why I am waiting. They better NOT fold. I want them to stay strong. I am not even a gun owner but I support 100 percent our 2nd Amendment
I just rejoined NRA and have also been a member of Gun Owners of America.
I let my membership lapse a few years ago but will now re-join...
