Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has signed right-to-work legislation, dealing a devastating and once-unthinkable defeat to organized labor in a state that has been a cradle of the movement for generations.
He put his signatures on the bills Tuesday, hours after the state House passed the measures as the chants of thousands of angry pro-union protesters filled the Capitol.

We surround them. If they bring it, they will get it back in spades.
Michigan is crippled. It’s dead and dying. Unions and Democrats have bled every ounce of life from it.
Was looking at the new map on nrtwc site and saw how lovely Michigan looks in red! Just wonder if Missouri will ever be colored red by the NRTWC? The Republicans in Jeff City have sat on it for years now...
They face a lot higher hurdles in trying to overturn this in Michigan. The GOP was smart enough to make it referendum proof by attaching an appropriation to it.
Our legislators are term limited and many of them are on their way out and are virtually untouchable. They’ve already tied to recall Snyder twice and failed.
If they want to overturn it they need to take all 3 branches of government in this heavily republican state. There will be challenges but they really don’t have a legitimate argument.
If you have the money. And the private schools are going to be attacked too. Watch.
Michigan is the crown jewel of unionism and I think we’re going to see multiple states go RTW in short order.
They attacked Steven Crowder today.

Rush has been talking about that lately too.
He has basically been talking about a coming class war with out saying it.
We have been warned. I have listened, you have listened Mesta. But sadly too many people in America fall for the Class envy card. The Dark Knight Rises predicted this EXACT scenario. Attack the people who have the ability to create as the people who stole it from you!.
Pray, Pray hard.
Was the Tea Party Conservatives? Or those GOP-E's who told you they wouldn't support a T.P. Candidate.

Before I wouldn't have believed you. But with this RTW the Union power is broken. Now they will stand or fall on their own merits.....or lack there of.
The idea that there even had to be legislation in the matter is ridiculous.
With the cosa nostra broken, Michigan’s wealth begins to return.
It’ll be fun to see the charts of Michigan union membership and dues revenues over the next 24 months. Heeee
There were teamsters in our building. The secretary asked me to their Christmas Party. Holy cripes...they were all packing. It was insane and scarey. This was mob country, too.
Watch and see just how many teachers will gladly leave the union. Might take a few years, but they will.
This is probably the best consolation prize I can think of for losing the election. What a slam!
Agreed.

Gov. Snyder has (and legislature) has vastly expanded the number of charter schools in Michigan, they’re being built (yes as in new structures) and often staffed by ex-union teachers that actually want to teach.
