Jamie Foxx used his opening monologue on last night's edition of "Saturday Night Live" to assure us that "black is in."
Foxx, who recently told an awards show crowd that President Barack Obama is "our Lord and Savior," employed his "SNL" pulpit to riff on how cool it is to be black right now.
“Black is in,” the Oscar winner said, offering as proof that the NBA’s Nets moved to Brooklyn. “How black is that?” he asked.
He went on to talk about his upcoming role in Quentin Tarantino’s "Django Unchained."
“I play a slave. How black is that?” He asked. “I have to wear chains. How whack is that?"
But not to worry, he said...

I understand what you are saying.
I just doubt whether this abbreviated extract from an SNL show (it’s SNL after all, and no one should feign surprise at that level of humor after 40 years) is fit as the prime example. JMHO. YMMV.
He is happy that he gets to kill people in the movie who are similar to the most productive people, and the most knowledgeable people, and the people who gave him his livelihood.

How wonderful that you’re so all-seeing and magnanimus. Maybe you ought to take your wisdom out on the road, and explain to some of the locals in the stories linked below how hyperventilatingly idiotic they are to believe that taunts, threats and “unsavory humor” never contribute to actual violence.

I can tell you with some assurance that the friends and relatives of those murdered/slaughtered would love to learn your secrets about not breaking down in tears, as you say, “like a little girl.” I know because I AM one.
p.s. I suppose you ARE talking about LIVING little girls, aren’t you, tough guy? Because the one I know personally isn’t crying, talking or even breathing anymore. Hard to get your heroic message across to her, you know?
You may be missing the key issue, it’s not what he said it’s that only ‘Select’ people can make unsavory humor.

I don’t care what any entertainer says or does. I’ve met enough of them to not take any of them seriously. Especially since many are just dumb as a box of rocks.
If you think this Foxx guy killed those people, so be it.
I just commented on this particular SNL show. If you choose to generalize it beyond what it is, so be it.

Tarantino used to work at a video store, so I wouldn't be surprised if the saw the 1966 film and was working off that, with an added dose of Skin Game, a 1971 movie with James Garner traveling through the country selling Lou Gossett Jr. as a slave and then helping him to escape, so they can split the proceeds of the sale. You can find a lot of obscure genre movies that probably inspired Tarantino if you google "Django unchained influences."
About Jamie Foxx: I keep hearing how politicians are supposed to be sociopaths. Maybe. But a lot of people in show biz definitely are. Perhaps some day they'll be a biopic about Jamie telling how he messed up his life in one way or another (or overcame his demons, etc.).
