Anyone can name their router ID whatever they want. Always fun to spoof the neighbors.

Maybe it was a joke, a neighbor who named their home network, FBI Surveillance Van.

If the FBI wanted to snoop on you, it wouldn’t have to create a hotspot to do so. Probably just your neighbor’s kid having some fun.

You name your router “Hitler’s Secure Bunker” or Obama’s Kenyon Birthplace” if you wanted.
Someone is having fun.

Nice talking to you. Go outside...Slowly, and raise your hands. We could have had a nice relationship...but.

Google "FBI Surveillance Van".
Somebody somewhere set up the idea of naming their network as such so people wouldn't access it. Apparently some people thought it was clever enough that they copied them and the notion went viral. There's a network in my neighborhood with the same name.

I named mine “Download Virus”.
You can name it “Launch Thermonuclear Missile”, or whatever.
I named mine download virus as it makes people unlikely to click on it.

Do you see an unmarked van within 1500 feet of your location?
1. If yes, it may be the FBI.
2. If no, it is the FBI. They’re very sneaky.
To: Wuli
but would they also be so stupid to identify their wireless router as "FBI Surveillance Van".??? You're overestimating Zippy/Holder.

Absolutely a joke!
Do not be concerned or worried.
This suggestion to name your wireless
router ‘FBI’ and the like has been
going around Facebook for a few weeks
now - people are apparently doing so!
If you WERE the
FBI Surveillance Van, would you name
your router that?

Our neighbors named their wifi “FBI_SURVAN9”
Ours is named ‘NOFREEWIFI4U”
name yours something cool and enjoy
To: Wuli
I got an email a while back, chain mail, that gave ideas for people to do to have fun with their neighbor.
That exact name for your wifi was suggested.

I name mine "Cat Detector Van"
It can pinpoint a purr at four hundred yards, so a measly router is a piece of cake!
To: Wuli
It went viral on Facebook a few months ago.
Now about half the home wireless networks in the country are named "FBI Surveillance Van" or some such.
