Yowzers, it's been a good year for music. Music so good it made us want to lick the packaging it came in. Music so bad we had a bonfire piled high with it. Music so weird it made us question whether it was even music. After countless hours of in-office arguing, we've boiled the lot of it down to the 50 choicest cuts of 2012

There are 35 artists on this list I have never heard of.
Like everything else in Obamaland: over hyped, over expensive, low grade and ultimately disappointing....
It would be 50 for me!
I bought a George Strait CD this year. That’s it.
I’ve got #1 on the list by Tame Impala. Highly recommended.
So you have listened to all 50?
I’ll have to ask my kids.
My favorite album of the year is “Clockwork Angels” by RUSH. One of my kids’ favorites too.
All I recognized were Bobby Womack, Kanye West (’cause he’s such an obnoxious bigmouth) and David Byrne.
Graham Coxon, Spiritualized. Right up my alley. Thanks for posting.
I used to buy two or three albums a week back in the 70’s, but this..? I only recognize two of the names on this list...Bobby Womack (although I wouldn’t buy his albums) and David Byrne (who I did buy as a member of the Talking Heads.)
Thanks for the tip.
I must be way older than I thought, I have a very very different definition of what MUSIC is. Rap crap and discordant noises are not MUSIC.
As I read this I am sitting in my office with Bachman Turner Overdrive “Let It Ride” cranked up. Most of the music today is whale poop!
They should roll this list back forty years...Top 50 of 1972 would be loaded with great MUSIC.
You have that right! Let’s bring back Frank’s ‘The Capitol Years’ work.
I hear Ya!
I don’t have too.
Sandra Fluke has been nominated for Time’s person of the year.
It’s not about talent or how hard you work - it’s about who you know.
That’s why all music sounds alike.
All movies play the same.
All TV looks the same.
All books read the same way.
All news stories have the same take.
I think I’ll take a break in honor of this thread and crank up my amp, pull out my E355 and jam some “Slow Ride” by Foghat!
