I wonder how much the PSA is when done in conjunction with other blood tests cholesterol, sugar etc?

I haven't had insurance the last couple years but have continued to pay for annual blood tests. I used $45 as a rough estimate of how much extra my blood tests cost with the PSA [that probably varies from place to place.] I think I'm estimating on the high side.

As I said, I detest appearing to support Obama, but preventive measures do not always pay off. I suspect, though, that breast cancer tests [which have similar disconnects between costs and benefits] will eventually be covered by government insurance for political reasons while the PSA test will not -- for political reasons.

Men won't insist on their test. Women probably will -- and will get it.
