It only took 40 years. But finally, actress-turned-workout-specialist Jane Fonda has apologized for sitting on a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun during her 1972 visit to North Vietnam. Fonda, who used her fame to push her radical leftism during her heyday, traveled to Hanoi in 1972 in solidarity with the Viet Cong. While there, she proceeded to blame the US for supposedly bombing a dike system, and did a series of radio broadcasts stating that US leaders were war criminals. Those broadcasts were replayed for American POWs being tortured by the Viet Cong. Later, when POWs spoke about their experiences of torture, Fonda would call them hypocrites and liars, stating, These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed. She explained that these POWs were careerists and professional killers.

She could stand on top of the tallest building in the world with a megapphone and even in her (”workout” clothes she thought she looked so cool in)and apologize from one coast to the other and from north to south. It would mean nothing to me. They are just words from an old hasbeen who obviously must be making a movie or writing a book or some such nonsense where now she needs some more attention and spotlight.
She defamed our military and for that I will never forgive her nor will others like me. I put our military above and beyond anything this old nitwit would say or do. She’s had her day in all the nonsense she spewed and all the ridiculous crap she starred in.
She can keep her apology. It means NOTHING. SHE means NOTHING. In todays world she is irrelevant. She should just go retire someplace and act her age and by act her age I mean respectful and dignified as we all should be as we grow old. Yeah Jane...you are OLD. However, are the same ignoramous you have always been.
No, it needed to be done by trial or it means nothing
It’s forty years since Fonda should have been prosecuted under Federal law for high treason.
Hasn’t happened. Howcum?
FWIW, it’s forty years this past August since I returned from Vietnam.
Jane Fonda is a needy, co-dependent personality who blames her father as the reason she is so effed up. e wasn’t sensitive enough when she was teen. She decided to rebel agains’t daddy by prancing over to Hanoi to get her pic taken sitting on a big gun and spouting a bunch of anti-american carpola.
IMO the only possible reason she escaped being charged with treason and imprisoned was because Henry Fonda was an American icon and nobody had the heart to do it to his daughter. She is only sorry that she has had to pay for her traitorous behaviour by being publicly ostracized. She’s probably sorry now that she didn’t just go “F” Che and send Daddy a full color copy.
doubt it’s a real apology.
I haven’t found a direct quote of exactly what she said. Here are two more links. It seems she’s mentioned this is her new book, that she’ll be starring in a film as Nancy Reagan (too much to take). One article says that she said she was sorry, but that might have been a paraphrase of “I regret.”

OK; pull the post, I certainly don’t want to piss off the feds any more than I already have. And just to be sure, I am absolutely positive the opportunity would never come up any way. By the way;I don’t think I will live long enough to make any water on her farm, just damn.
You’re old too? Desert Storm Marine, are you? Thank you for your service.
Too bad about watering her farm, but you never know. Hang in there.
I believe General MacArthur had it exactly right. You kick the hell out of the enemy and anyone that stands in the way in order to finish the war as quickly as possible when the enemy gives up only then do you give them a pass
Anything less is simply evil to both the enemy and ourselves
We tried & hanged the top war criminals after WWII, didn’t we?
Is there mass resentment in Germany & Japan even today for what we did?
I can just imagine America erupting in riots if Hanoi Jane were to meet an untimely demise.
I personally think it was a good idea though. let it go and move on otherwise we are just setting ourselves up for another Treaty of Versailles. Which we are doing over and over again. Look how we ended the war in Kuwait our treaty crated the second war in the gulf but you will never hear that by anyone but me.
Ah, you are my age then. Thank you again and again for your service. Really, I appreciate you so much that I can barely express it. War is Hell.
And you’re right. Keep your fantasy. I agree with it.
Thanks. I appreciate your kind words. Just don’t tell the Feds you agree, as I am sure they will come and take both of us away. (just joking)
The post is gone, so they have no idea what your fantasy is, and knowing them, it would probably not be what you might think. ;-)
