The Examiner ^ | November 11, 2012 | Joe Newby

As a result of Tuesday's election, Americans in 15 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States, Regina Conley reported at Red Alert Politics on Saturday.

So far, she says, residents in Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, New Jersey and ten other states, have filed petitions at the White House petition site requesting secession. A petition for New York to secede was file by "C R" of Grand Forks, North Dakota on Saturday.

Examiner's Sheila Carroll says those other states include Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Oregon.

On November 7, the day after the election, "Michael E" from Slidell, Louisiana, filed a petition at the White House "We the People" site, requesting that Louisiana be allowed to secede...

I thought we were. TexOkie here.

No matter right now, I see all this as just wanting to do something, but I do not think it will succeed. Not enough Legislatures/patriots willing to go along with it. The people are ready, but we can't do anything. Wish it were not so.

” . . . the weather and the physical landscape.’

Bird in gilded cage.

I don’t know you, but my first thought is that anyone whose reasons for staying in a liberal hell hole like California include such hedonistic reasons probably belongs there, and is usually loathed when they show up and “californianize” some previously conservative area that’s not as “special.” Hope I’ve got you wrong, and sorry if I do.

Thank you for stating the obvious. Many here don’t see it.

would be allowed into the any group containing Texas, LA, Miss, Alabama, and Georgia. (may I add "and others?", OKLA., and then if you take the strip right up the middle, those states go right on up to Canada.

I certainly hope they would not be allowed in, they are the ones we want to be RID of... need DE-Con on the borders.

All you right minded NE'ern conservatives, you need to COME OUT, but don't bring any of that NE'ern thinking down here, we don't cotton to nonsense.

Unfortunatley, we may have to go through those conditions again to set the stage for a new Reagan/Thatcher revolution.

You have to remember that this nation has already had one president for life -- Roosevelt. And it happened precisely because he was willing to hand out free stuff in hard times that he first took advantage of then worked to perpetuate however unwittingly.

Obama and Reid intend to provoke crisis so they can ride in and save the day. The more people depend on the government the more power they will give that government.

Secession or not, the only way out of this mess is to stop letting parasites vote. If you aren't working, don't own anything and are on the dole, you aren't a citizen you are a parasite.

And now the parasites own the federal government and outnumber the citizens. The only bright spots are the state governments the parasites overlooked.

The people submitting these petitions, however misguided they may be, grasp that. People sitting out elections at home waiting for a conservative candidate to swoop in and rescue them are the delusional ones.

It won't get real legs. The feds will allow the discontent to be expressed, as venting of discontent is an essential part of maintaining control, while giving the illusion of freedom.

There are plenty of microcosms as examples of failure of a state to have its own way, where states try to assert superiority over the feds, for example, drug policy. The feds always win, they have superior firepower.

The federal government has worked itself into an unsustainable position. It will fail.

These folks are stuck in 1980, waiting for Reagan.

What happens when Reid and Obama or their successors can't keep the house of cards up anymore? Greece is just the beginning of that.

Look at Sarajevo. Two very different populations living together when the rule of law fails. Think of a red suburban area a couple of miles from a blue inner city when the EBT card doesn't light up anymore.

Reid wants $2.4 trillion more now. There is no indication either he or Obama has a clue what they are doing or they think no matter how bad it gets they can stay ahead of it with freebees.

History says otherwise.

The feds obtain their revenue via taxing individuals and corporations. I don't know of any payments by states, to the feds.

It really is like the borg.

It is possible for the federal government to run the country into the ground. It's been working at that for decades.

The elites are indifferent whether they lord over successful people, or serfs. I'd bet they prefer to lord over serfs, the dumber, the better.

I have long feared this day, the days of dissolving American Union.

Yet now that we are almost there, I welcome it. People say the slow march towards socialism will require an ever slower march back.

The Problem is that we are in an abusive relationship with the Blue States and Federal Government and they will NEVER leave us alone.

We must solve our problems on a local level and that means it is time for a National Divorce.

We should all just go our separate ways and be done with it.

“If we can’t win every election, then we will just take our ball an go home.”.......

We don't win elections anyway, it is time to take our ball and go home and regroup. At least we will never win another Presidential elections. Good job on now having 30 Rep. Governors.

..."""How is that going to gain conservatism any support?"""".....

We don't have conservative support now, in total. Many deserted, well because...........(fill in the blank). If they can't get all THEY want, they take their balls and go home...and to hell with what the rest of you think......how is that helping?

Not saying Romney was a true conservative, and he was not my first choice. But, I'm smart enough to know to play the hand that is dealt, and he was our last man standing.

I don't need any preaching about Romney not being a true conservative, I KNOW THAT, bug off. He was the last man standing, and our only hope to twart the EVIL EMPIRE OF OBAMA.......may or may not have worked, but the ONLY hope that was on the horizon......it is finished.

I am probably not the best one to be lifting cement blocks (that would be my husband, LOL), but I could probably be okay with mixing mortar. ;) Can we build one around Athens County, too? They are the bane of southeast Ohio’s existence!

We were/are the Frogs in the pot.......we finally found it is to hot........

On the money going from state to Gov., I thought some state revenues were sent (as their share) to the Gov't., who in turn dished it back to them at, say, .25cents on the dollar. Matching funds?......

I spent over ten years in Colorado. Voted conservative, mostly Republican, in most elections. Even got to vote for the Colorado gubernatorial candidate as a delegate to the Republican state convention.

I had to come back to California as the jobs in Colorado were drying up and my family needed me.

It is nice being close to friends, half of whom are solid conservatives and Republican, and don't mind gutting it out in California.

My experience in Colorado was a bit depressing when it came to politics, although everything else about Colorado was a blast.

There were candidates that pretended to be conservative in the primaries, but were just in it for the fame/fortune. The truly conservative candidates that won the primaries had a hard time winning in the main election. Even a few years ago there were just too many Democrats, moderate Republicans, and moderate independents.

There was a group of cantankerous individualists, but they were no match for the hoards of locusts that built up covenanted communities all around them and then eventually squeezed them out. One-by-one the gun ranges became tract home communities with all sorts of nannyish rules that had to be followed: no parking on the street, fines for not keeping your front yard in pristine condition, but no one cared if your neighbor's backyard was full of weeds descending on your property. It was all about curb appeal.

When I got there when Colorado was still nominally Republican, every city had its own multimillion dollar rec center. What does a city need with a rec center when there are a score of private companies in the exercise gym business? There was definitely a sense that people in town expected more of their government than is healthy, while the hermits lived out of town hoping against hope that the plague of houses wouldn't reach their doorstep.

Even Texas will be a Democrat state within a couple of election cycles. Did you see all the blue on the south Texas election maps?

I'm staying put in the heart of the beast for now. Maybe I can take some stabs at it. Those of you living out near its appendages are safe for now, but not for long I'm afraid.
