The post-storm housing a refugee camp on the grounds of the Monmouth Park racetrack is in lockdown, with security guards at every door, including the showers.
No one is allowed to go anywhere without showing their I.D. Even to use the bathroom, you have to show your badge, said Amber Decamp, a 22-year-old whose rental was washed away in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
The mini city has no cigarettes, no books, no magazines, no board games, no TVs, and no newspapers or radios. On Friday night, in front of the mess hall, which was serving fried chicken and out-of-the-box, just-add-water potatoes, a child was dancing and dancing to nothing. Were starting to lose it, said Decamp. But we have nowhere else to go.

Maybe it's the 'power factor' they are worried about?
/sarc and inside EE joke ...
Double entendre there. Power Factor. The dirty powers that be.
The Democrat Party is truly a political cult. And Obama is the head guru. If fact, I think that these fanatic Democrat Obama worshipers are no different than the Muslim fanatics who strap on explosives and blow themselves up. No doubt they'll start doing it if Obama commanded them to do it.
I don’t despise NY’ers. In the context of the posted hyperbole, it doesn’t matter where these folks come from.
My guess would be if they thought to bring their chargers, they probably brought their laptops, TV’s, hair dryers and every other convenience they usually plug in.
Bottom line: I seriously doubt these people are in Auschwitz. Cranky and inconvenienced, yeah. Hardly death camps.
If y’all think these people are being held against their will by fascist SS camp guards for forced labor, re-education, medical experiments or any other kook purpose . . . go take a walk and catch your breath.
When I was held with several thousand people in DC, they didn’t feed us for three days, and our only drinks came from the water fountains and sinks, there were no refreshments, or coffee, or such, and no bathing, or even beds.
We weren’t supplied food until some of us were transferred to the city jail, and then they supplied us with huge boxes full of dry baloney sandwiches.
I don’t mean to sound callous, but I hope these people think twice next time before going to the Camps. No good ever comes of it. I suspect this is a dry run.
Probably some of the millions upon millions of MREs and other foodstuffs purchased over the past few years by the DHS. Yeah, that would be a good start.
I never damned anyone. I never claimed to know what - exactly - they had (let alone the dimensions of their flatscreens). I merely am pointing out that you and many others here are going nuts over this. Your source? SHTF/nutjob.com. Were you crying about Katrina victims? Nope. Here we have an emergency and obvious hardship but every paranoiac on FR is foaming at the mouth about deathcamps and the suppression of facts. If the facts are, indeed, being supressed, what the hell makes anyone around here so cocksure about their take?
Yeesh.
You’d take an MRE over fried chicken and mashed potatoes? Bon Appetit!
You’d take an MRE over fried chicken and mashed potatoes? Bon Appetit!
AMEN! I’ve been saying almost the same thing for YEARS!
Unless the article is correct.
Article: The post-storm housing a refugee camp on the grounds of the Monmouth Park racetrack is in lockdown, with security guards at every door, including the showers.
Dang! That means I can't discuss the religion of politics or the politics of religion with you.
Well that leaves all the naughty teacher threads, most of the banglist, and anything by Laz.
We’re good!
>Well that leaves all the naughty teacher threads, most of the banglist, and anything by Laz.
>Were good!
LOL — True.
About the size of it, Nik...
It’s ok to post guards at showers for security.
If requiring ID when inside its also ok to post guards outside to restrict incoming traffic.
It would be wrong to prevent people from leaving. That removes the equation they are there by choice.
I work at a facility that has armed guards at entrance. I have to abide by their rules but I am free to come and go as I please . So nothing wrong with my rules.
