Whos next? London, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Dearborn? Until last year there was an annual Christmas tree standing in the center of the Grote Market in Brussels. Councillor Bianca Debaets regrets that this year the traditional Market tree will not be there. I suspect that the reference to the Christian religion was the decisive factor, she added.
he City has announced that there will be no tree at the Grote Markt this year. It will be replaced by an exhibit of lights that looks like an Evergreen tree. Debaets is not happy with that decision as she sees Christmas being gradually replaced by Winter Celebration terminology. Not that the Christmas tree is a Christian religious symbol, but the tree obviously is a reference to Christmas itself, which is why it has been banished from the Market. And thats a shame.
Debaets think a historical and multireligious city should keep the historical traditions alive while allowing all ideologies (even the violent ones like Islam?). For a lot of people (Muslims) who are not Christians, the tree there is offensive to them, she concluded.
Whats next? Debaets wondered. Will all eggs be banned from the city because they are symbolic of Easter? Is this what Brussels has become a Muslim city?

***** “ Unfortunately he died 50 years ago but I recall him fondly.” ******
When I was a young boy my Mother used to take all us kids to Retirement Homes (we called them Old Folks Homes) and we would sing and basically be in Grandma and Grandpa Heaven!
That was about 50 years ago, I still remember those days and conversations... I wanted to know if any of them knew “Billy the Kid”, or “Jesse James” of course they all did and had great stories to back it up. (the Art of Storytelling has suffered greatly since TV showed up)
Like you the recollections are priceless, the older I get the more I think about those days.
Hope my Generation and the two following are as tough as those folks were (not counting on it) cause the next 20 years is not going to be much fun.

Need to revise the last of my comment ...

It’s time to ban muslims and islam because it is OFFENSIVE to the rest of us.

In the ghettos of Chicago on the South and West side. Every year.
I visiting Brussels about 3 years ago. Not sure why, but it felt very dark and sinister to me. My intuition that this was a dangerous place was heightened. I couldn’t wait to leave and I never want to go back.
Oops! Visited, not visiting. Freeping too early without coffee is hazardous.
Travelled through to Brussels from Zurich many years ago (89, I think). It was a sh*thole then and is a sh*thole now, although the islamic pestilence was not in full force yet. Reason we had to spend 24 hrs on a rickety train was that the charter pilot was drunk.
It was still unbendingly nazi, though. Just as the rest of Europe.
Along with being stupid
It’s starting to look like Islam will be the one world religion that is supposed to be implemented as part of the end times. Accept it (the mark) or starve if you aren’t outright killed.
Islam is a war plan.
