The Voters Who Stayed At Home
Political Realities ^ | 11/09/12 | LD Jackson

Posted on 11/09/2012 4:51:01 AM PST by LD Jackson

Perhaps I should have changed the title of this post to "The Americans Who Stayed At Home". That's really where this all lies. In the aftermath of the election, I was reading some posts on Facebook and came across one from someone I am related to. He and his wife shall remain nameless, but what they posted troubled me greatly. They basically congratulated President Obama for his victory and then wrote that they were proud of the fact that they did not vote. I could not believe what I was reading. How can any American citizen not have the desire to exercise the voice granted us by the United States Constitution? How can any American citizen not have the desire to vote in our electoral system?

I couldn't let that pass by (probably should have), so I commented that they should be ashamed of themselves. You know, with my usual discrete tactfulness. I was quickly informed that it was not an obligation that Americans vote. That if it were an obligation, it would not be freedom. Of course, they are technically right. It is a freedom of choice, whether we choose to vote or not. I responded that they were throwing away the sacrifices already paid so we could have that freedom and they said it was still their right and we would have to agree to disagree. I left well enough alone and did not respond, but my mind has been rolling, trying to get a handle on the attitude I saw displayed.

We all know many elections have a very small turnout. In an election of such importance, one would think that Americans would want to voice their opinion in the most powerful way available, but that is not the case. Mitt Romney received fewer votes than did John McCain. Barack Obama received fewer votes than he did in 2008. Do the majority of Americans simply not care about the direction of our country? I do not know the percentage of Americans who are actually registered to vote, but according to voting statistics that were certified early this year, there is a gap of 60 million people between the number of Americans who are eligible to vote and those who are not registered. There is a difference of over 15 million people between the number of Americans who are registered to vote and those who choose not to vote.

Some of these people are not doubt, disillusioned by the system. Many of them probably believe that it does no good to vote. Some of them probably do not care, as long as they are not troubled from their busy schedule. Almost 18% of those who choose not to vote cite conflicting schedules. With the number of ways we have to vote in America, that is a shame. There are also those who did not vote on November 6 because they did not like the choices. That is their privilege, but it does not take away from the fact that many of them chose not to make their opinions known by voting.

Where does that leave our country? I firmly believe America would not be in the shape it is in, if the people who should be voting actually exercised that right and voiced their opinions at the ballot box. We can complain about the system all we want, that it does not good to vote, but it would make a vast difference, if more of us came out to vote. For that, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

I sure as heck voted and my comments might fit under your “disillusioned” category. I suspect many non-voters refused to play along with our rotten system, as a passive-aggressive protect, even if unconsciously.

Perhaps many non-voters were protesting the shallow, idiotic way our campaigns are run. Candidates are marketed as products, and empty vessels. Marketers play on emotions; ideas and specific intentions are avoided, because the opposition can easily attack them. Our “debates” are a travesty of the concept. Robocalls are literally fake, insult our intelligence, and invade our privacy. Radio and TV ads mostly come across as transparent fakery.

The marketing model for candidates, just as for junk products on TV, works best with those who are emotionally driven, have weak characters, and/or have relatively low IQ. Such people will always be in the majority. To the extent that Republicans play “me too” in this game, they drive away their natural allies. When Republicans in office deliver the same growth of Big Government as their leftist opponents, they reduce the reason for Conservatives to vote. Other non-voters are protesting the fact that our electoral proess is so corrupt that “voting” merely legitimizes a rigged game.

Note that “Exit Polls” are not a satisfactory resource for explaining this election. Republicans lost because millions of their natural voters, did not turn out. Those who were not there to “Exit” don’t get polled. People look for excuses to justify doing the wrong thing. The Republicans had better figure out what those excuses were, and how to counter them, if they want to win elections.

agreed and on top of that we have 3 counties in OH which had 100% for obama
military votes evenly split in VA which is unheard of , Dems never get 5% of the military and why just that state VA?
West is seeing republican votes were not counted right now as I type.
obama got less than 5000 in Tampa just before election day and yet he won that area.
Nope no way

I live here and there is no way he won ths state.

It’s results after result and still we get some on here and ur side who just hear the media;s talking points and then repeat them.

I wish people would do their own research and then they woudl see these results are not right.

Stalin said.

it;s not who voted what counts it;s who is counting the votes.

Damn straight this applies here and the Chicago machine had Holder, the DOJ and 4 years prepping.

Hell I feel like I;m talking to myself half the time about this because some , not you can;t be bothered to look at WI, FL, OH, VA

Call them what they are: Obama voters.

Any time you don't show up and vote for the direction you want to take the nation in, are are endorsing the outcome that happens.

They could have at least voted against him. Instead, they voted for him from the shadows. They are cowards and fools and they will never grasp how much that decision is going to cost us all.

I couldn’t do it. Not a chance in hell I was gonna vote for Romney. I’d rather try and survive through the coming zombie apocalypse.

West right now is finding out that republican votes were not counted

We will see how this concludes. I want hard facts and not guessing. After waiting on Breitbart and Donald Trump to give us some big time Obama bomb which did not materialize, I don’t trust anybody yapping their mouth anymore. I am totally done with that. Show me the 100 percent facts and some arrests and then I will believe West until then...I will wait and see.

If the system is corrupt and it would seem it is. It hardly matters what the reason is.
Until and unless you can actually prove it.
Even then how did that work with the BC or F&F or Libya or anything Team 0 has done?
Noone in this entire admin, other than a few people resigning, have suffered any consequences for their actions

The power people behind the scenes want this.
It’s a gay world afterall.

Actually. the votes are not done being counted. Romney will end up with as many or more than McCain.

The total is going up daily.

ref your last two lines.

Have you looked at these results like others have?

Just asking because if you had and seen what many others had seen then you would know that republicans did turn out, that not turning out is a media talking point to have us move on.

Look at FL and how West has seen republican votes were not counted in the Dem county.
Look at how precincts had 100% votes for obama
Military votes in just one state VA went evenly which is unheard of
WI went republican but did not for for Ryan but for a Dem senator and obama
Look at the republican observers thrown out in over 20 precincts in Philly and in FL

It goes on and on, I think it was WI which had 44 polling station but Romney got 1 vote

Mia Love in UT wh was up double digits just before the election but lost and who the left knew was a threat to them

During the primary I was very leery of Mitt. There was some serious baggage there. RomneyCare scared the crap out of me.

I was a Newt fan until he seemed to turn petty at they end.

Rick Perry’s preacher was no better than Obama’s preacher in my book. “Yall are going to haaaeeelll! Now vote for me!” Yea, good luck with that.

I got to liking Mitt through a weird path. I remember back during the ‘08 Republican primary I was reading a couple threads over in DUmmie land. There was a thread title something like “Could any of these republicans actually fix the economy?”

Tons of the typical responses then, like the last response someone posted “Mitt Romney could.” No one over there responded to that. That said to me, yup and they all know it’s true.

As the economy got worse, the more I paid attention to Mitt. Especially his track record in business.

So, I just came to the conclusion that his track record on the social side sucked, but I’m a firm believer that he could get us fiscally sound again.

I believe with Paul Ryan there too... these would have been a great next four years.

How many places have 110% voter turnout?

Well...was it 110% of possible voters or 110% of expected voters based on '08 numbers?

Everything is local. Everyone I know in Colorado is baffled. Really. There are Romney yard signs every where. What that tells me is that those that voted for Romney were enthusiastic about doing so.

But Colorado also legalized pot on Nov 6. So that tells me about Colorado demographics now. All those young kids that 17 to 14 in '08 are now voting age.

All those foul mouthed little dope smokers that couldn't find their butts with both hands and a map...are now voting.

But enough Fraud to cover 3 million votes? I don't have all the facts to have an opinion on it yet.

That one just broke my heart and I mean that. I loved her at the convention. I loved Rush's interview with her. I was just so wanting her to win.

From early Tuesday, I was reading reports here of high voter turnout. I saw it with my own eyes in three polling places. I do NOT believe that Romney lost fairly. This election was stolen.
************************************
Orange County Florida posted the highest voter turnout EVER... while south Florida was “below average” while at the same time we had TV coverage showing them so busy that the polling places were kept open past midnight... I truly think Romney votes were discarded... I can’t speak to OH and PA but the RATS run the inner cities and have for decades ,,, it’s MUCH EASIER to commit fraud under those circumstances ...

FORGOT: We had the big name pollsters showing South Florida MUCH closer to the national averages than it was counted... nothing like 2008.

“Mitt Romney was chosen by the Republican primary voters. He was more appealing to the majority of voters than any of the others. He became the candidate by reason of popular vote. Period. “

This is crap. Half of the delegates are not chosen in the primaries.

Be prepared to hear all about lots of “voters staying home”...the Bipartisan Oligarchy would rather we all stew in that mess..than having us all bothered, and deciding to investigate, about all the voters voting who never voted...

Listening to descriptions of how “Democrats got out their ground game” with “superior ability to bring those to the polls who normally would never go” by the commentators on Fox election night..made me realize..what they actually have done is track names that HAVE NOT VOTED IN MANY, MANY elections cycles....and vote them.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/10/23/No-Car-Finds-2-214-Registered-Voters-110-Years-of-Age-Older

A well-funded project, county-by-county..to examine the names signed in at at the polls..and going out to find those individuals..you’ll find they were never physically at he polls..or they themselves never filled out the absentee ballot....or their names in the death registers.

If they are Black precincts, that 95% is probably accurate.

I’m a computer programmer (45 years).

It is a trivial matter, maybe 4 - 5 lines of code, to insert into a program statements which simply discard or ignore every 10th Republican vote.

Where were the votes counted? What computer system? Who managed that computer system?

Was the counting program secure? Was there an audit trail, that is a simple check of actual votes submitted versus total votes counted/reported?

These are important questions.

I bet if you find the answers to them you will discover that somehow George Soros was involved in the counting programs.
*******************************************************
I’m also a programmer ,, very easy to do ,, exactly every tenth requires a counter ,, maybe just a “if value=R and last digit of timestamp is 1 then discard” ,, you’d get a more randomized 10% cut in Romney votes.. if you want 5% then “if last 2 digits of timestamp ge “57” “ and so on and so forth... LOTS OF SOROS MONEY floating around..

We have had some reports of no vote on the presidential race and votes for the downstream races.. more than usual..

As shrill as the RATS were about the Diebold machines I have read the data and they were about secure as an unlocked car with the keys in the ignition... and governments bought them anyway ... I have no confidence in the systems in use around the country because the same idiots bought those systems with the same “expertise” in security and database design.

Vote fraud is a win-win for the RATS ...
