GOP Voter Apathy Cost Romney: Would have won with McCain's vote total

4. With overall voter turnout down, shockingly Romney got 2 million less votes than McCain! If Romney got as many votes as McCain, 59.6 million, he could have won.

The story of this election is voter turnout!

Look, Romney was not my first choice.. but our best guys like Rubio did not even enter the race..

folks, America has changed. someone said it above, we are the minority. that much is clear.

How does a leader get elected, stating “vote for me and I’ll give you less stuff”... with so many adult children in this country, that is just not going to happen.

Drive through any major city, or go to any ballgame, and take a look at the people of this country. They are all deeply effected by the culture of give me give me.. the g*d damn backwards baseball caps, hoops in their ears and noses and tattoos. And these are 35 + year olds, an age that used to be considered adult when I was a teen.

It’s arrived folks. I used to be afraid for this country, but no more, it’s too late for that.

Geez people the GOP got over 55 million votes, there just wasn’t enough of us and if you been paying attention you know the demographics of the country has been changing, more hispanic voters, more women voters and the same old liberal commie voters. Where were all these big mouthed independent voters that alway badmouth the GOP? They voted for Obama again. When Obama finnally has amnesty then we have to deal with all the illegals with their socialist educations leanings, women will vote democrat and most of them vote based on looks and charm not the issues. And I don’t even have to explain about blacks, that is obvious.
Stop badmouthing the GOP and accept the fact that there are not enough conservatives to elect the kind of person we want to see in office.

Hispanics will almost alway vote Democrat, There are fewer white males

What happened to the GOP turnout?
We peaked. Face it, we are becoming the minority.

And we can’t just “crap out more kids” and hope for the best because they will be indoctrinated...

People may think I am crazy but the only hope for conservatism and libertarian ideals is to be come extreme pro-life, and pro-science at the same time. What do i mean by this, well we need to embrace cloning, but with the caveat that it comes with “neural pattern copying” technology. That is the ONLY way to effectively bypass the indoctrination system that has been setup.

We clone ourselves and declare that clones have the same rights as a natural born while the clones are programmed using the neural patterns of rock ribbed small government conservative people....

Of course this tech would be avail for use by the other side....

We are doomed...

We need to start funding private moonbases, maybe Gingrich was right....

This planet is done, stick a fork in it, or a rock travelling at 25,000mph from the moon courtesy of the harsh mistress.

"What happened to the GOP turnout?"

I could have sworn they were in line with me at the polling place yesterday. Normally I can vote in five minutes and be out; yesterday the place was mobbed, and I had to wait in line for an hour and a half. Talk radio was full of accounts of historic turnout in red areas.

I'm not getting it. At all.

The GOP got beat because it hates Conservatives and their values, it gave its base a flip-flopping Massachusetts RINO candidate whom they could not support without holding their noses.

it's all easily explained ~ redistricting.

Some precincts were combined ~ some were divided to fit those lines just so. Not at all surprising to hear about the enlarged precincts getting more folks ~

My precinct shows a 50% voter increase over 2008. However, it's the same as it was during the 1990s during an earlier districting scheme that put my neighborhood in the evil Rep Moran's district. We were just put back into that district, so we end up with about the same number we had back then.

The precincts with fewer voters than last time aren't news ~ but they exist!

This is huge mystery to me if true. I didn’t like Myth in 08 and I didn’t like him in the primaries. But I voted for him. Sitting on the sidelines while the other team is scoring b/c a candidate fails some purity test is just crazy.

She didn't run. She was smart to not run with that crowd running the party. Romney lost even in the face of a Democrat presidential election voter fall off of historic proportions.

We are speaking of the future anyway, and I don't see you on the list of party stalwarts anyway.

I know what you mean. I know what I saw with my own eyes and it doesn’t add up. I saw far fewer signs but R/R outnumbered the imposter at lease 3/1. I saw lines at my rural polling place that I had never seen before. When I visited Chicago a week before the election, I did not see one Obama sign or bumper sticker. Four years ago the same places were full of them. I saw polling places with Obama murals and Black Panthers outside of polling places. I heard of GOP poll watchers, 70 of them, being thrown out of Philly polling places. I heard of a an Ohio election judge being unseated because he was allowing unregistered people to vote. This election was stolen and lies prevail. Pray for our country.

The sad fact is that we did not have anyone better than Romney.

We all had our individual favorites. But Herman Cain shot himself in the foot with his past lack of judgement. Rick Perry showed that he was not physically or psychologically prepared for the national stage. Newt Gingrich, more tragically, shot himself in the gut repeatedly with a long series of past bad judgements. Sarah Palin, no matter how lovable she is, is one of the most hated people in the nation and as a beautiful woman would be treated with utter contempt by our enemies. Who else was there? I can’t even remember other contenders right now, and that says something.

Our hope for the short-term future is that in the next four years Paul Ryan, Allen West, or others mature and prepare themselves to step into the spotlight. We have three years to find someone and figure it out.

And if we can’t find anyone to defeat the liberals—a very real possibility, considering the psyche of this nation—we should not despair altogether. In 1940, who could have imagined that the utter, demonic horror of Nazi Germany would end, that it would be burned to the ground, and that it would rise again to become a peaceful and prosperous nation? No one could have envisioned that; only God saw the future. And thus God knows our future, and knows how far we are going to have to fall before we realize our sins and rebuild our country. Our beautiful nation may have to be beaten to a ruin before a few of us raise our heads and start over.

Yep! You don't see parasites dropping off the host carcass to seek freedom. They will only leave when the carcass is drained.

I getting tired of this crap about Mitt being my boy, so please grow up and stop it. I backed Palin in 2008, before some of you people ever heard of her, so stop that crap as well. I have never been a part of GOP-e or supported the GOP-e.

I would have welcomed her campaign in 2011/2012 but she chose not to run. Stop blaming everyone else for her not running for President and start acting like an adult you claim to be.

Good point but the point of this is that GOP didn’t get out the vote as it should have. It also cost GOP a seat in the house in Illinois through a stunning turnover of longtime GOP seat in the 13th. It only took 46,000 votes for the Dem to take over the seat that she won in 2008 with 95,000 votes. This time, the GOP apathy sprinkled on her and she garnered a stunningly low 43,00 votes.

GOP turnout blew.

Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey are nearby states with hard core Democrat voters ~ but they also have high taxes on millionaires and middle class people.

These people flee into Northern Virginia as they retire and continue to vote in the same old damaging way they did "BACK HOME".

We really need to do something to make them uncomfortable so they don't stick around and cause us problems ~ maybe a tax on Democrats ~ (under a different title though) and with a wholly Republican legislature I think we could do it!

Oh it makes sense alright. I said last week this election was too close and it was going to come down to voter fraud. We Dem election officials throwing the GOP out of the voting places and our people went like sheep instead of standing up and fighting back. We got voting machines that were rigged to favot Obama regardless of who you voted for. We got people losing the military absentee ballots so our military voters were denied their right to vote. We got dead people voting, illegal immigrants and then we have to fight the union thugs and Black Pampers. If we had a little more lead we might have survived that but we didn’t.

I’m wondering if early voting was pre-counted and tossed if not for Obama. Because I know of MANY people who voted for Romney voted early.

In my town, early voting ballot went into envelope which I’m guessing was supposed to be opened on election day and then placed into the voting machine. That extra step of having someone else put my ballot into the machine may have cost my vote.

Can’t wait until Iran rolls out that first nuke, America’s credit rating hits C-, and the first EBT cards start to show a zero balance.

Woohoo, good times ahead! America is under judgment and the world will switch gears and speed headlong into Armageddon. Let's get this over with!
