First of all, let me congratulate President Obama on his successful reelection. I did not vote for him and I am not happy with the results, but he did win the election. As unhappy as I am, that is how America rolls. We have successful transitions of power, instead of the kind of violence we see in Libya, Syria, Egypt, etc. As sour as these grapes may be, I'll still take America over any country in the world.
Having said that, let me get to some of my personal feelings. I am still in shock that the majority of Americans want another four years of Barack Obama. We have had four years of dismal economic growth, even though he promised we would see an economic boom because of the money he was spending. That did not materialize, yet he wants to do it again. Again, the shock that the majority of Americans believe that is the path we need to take. Even though the exit polls showed a majority of voters believed we are on the wrong track, they gave Obama another four years with which to continue that track. That is a major contradiction that I can not reconcile, at least this close to the election. Other trends that worry me is how the turnout looked in some states, but that will also have to come later. I just don't have it in me to look at it and give a proper analysis.
Please forgive me for grumbling about what is taking place. I do not consider myself a poor loser, but I am extremely disturbed by what is transpiring in our country. The number of those who are on government dependency has continued to grow in the past four years and I see nothing to suggest that trend will reverse. Is this what Americans really want, a country where the government provides for so many people? Apparently so and that troubles me greatly. Where has the America gone, the country where everyone had opportunity and took it, instead of waiting on the government to give them what they need?
What will happen in the next four years is fairly clear. Here is a short paragraph from President Obama's acceptance speech.
You elected us to focus on your jobs, not ours. And in the coming weeks and months, I am looking forward to reaching out and working with leaders of both parties to meet the challenges we can only solve together. Reducing our deficit. Reforming our tax code. Fixing our immigration system. Freeing ourselves from foreign oil. Weve got more work to do.Does that sound familiar? It should, as it is the same refrain he was using in 2008, except for the part of having more work to do. I find it disconcerting to see him falling back on the same mantra of wanting to work across the aisle, when he has made it abundantly clear that he has no desire to do so. This is one time when actions truly do speak louder than words. No matter what he says, Obama has shown no inclination that he wants to work with Republicans. His idea of compromise is simple. They give him everything he wants and they get nothing in return. Unless he grants them a few obligatory spending cuts, ten years down the road. I see nothing good coming from another four years of the same song and dance.
President Obama has already stated it would be easier to work without Congress. He has done so, via Executive Order, numerous times. Now that he has no reelection worries, how far will he be willing to go to enact his agenda? And make no mistake, he has an agenda that will harm America. Some may believe he will be a normal lame duck President and work to produce a legacy worthy of the Office of the President, but I think not. He now has the flexibility he desired and I am afraid he will make full use of it.
What will a second Obama term look like? Examine his first term and then double down on that. He has nothing to hold him back, except for the Republicans in the House of Representatives, and I am not at all convinced they have what it takes to stand in the gap. Without new and bold leadership, I am afraid they will fold and capitulate, making it almost impossible to stop the agenda Obama will certainly put forward.
A regulatory nightmare is on its way and there seems little we can do to stop it. Obamacare will be fully implemented and forever entrenched in our country. Taxes are almost certain to go up and spending is almost certain to increase. The only thing I can see that can convince Americans real change is needed is a complete and total economic collapse. Until that happens, we seem to be willing to stay in a deep sleep, oblivious to what is transpiring in America.
When Barack Obama was campaigning in 2008, he promised to bring our country together, to mend the divisions that already existed. He has accomplished nothing in that regard, except to make it worse. America is more divided than it has ever been and much of that is due to his "us against them" rhetoric. He may be an American by birth, but he is not an American by spirit. A real American would not use such rhetoric.
I am truly concerned for America. I realize God is in full control and nothing happens without his knowledge. I also know that God sometimes gives us the desires of our heart, even if those desires are not good for us. I am afraid that is what is happening. We are getting the government we deserve.
The President for Life.
Many people would go willingly, especially if they didn’t have basic needs being met.I’ll bet Obama tries to establish the shadow paramilitary force that was talked about during his first term.
They sure didn’t help

Please be more specific. What type of technology regarding the voting machines are we talking about? Electronic touch screens? Or something else?
Also, in what states do you know of complaints along these lines? I know this happened in Colorado during early voting, but haven't seen articles about other specific instances - yet.
I saw that Allan West's people are complaining about voting irregularities in Florida, where he is down by 2400 votes, though absentees (including a lot of military, I'd assume) haven't come in yet.
Early voting was reported at all time highs and everyone was talking about the long lines yesterday. Amazing, huh.
Most people wouldn't notice. When they get to the end, they just hit enter and leave without a thought. Just like most people don't bother checking their reciepts at the grocery store. They "assume" it's right, sign their name and are out the door. There's no way of knowing what happened once the votes got into the system and were counted.
You hear only of the overcrowded places, not of the empty ones.
Better minds than mine are trying to make sense of this.
My take is that Obama is a larger than life figure - a personality that has assumed the status of cult leader. Can you imagine anyone but Obama being able to pull this off? Biden, Reid, or any of the other dinosaurs in that party?
Despite all his failures, there are still a lot of people out there who project on to him what they want to see. Young people see someone cool and hip who they like because their parents and grandparents do not like. Minorities see him as the ultimate revenge on white people. Minority women see him as the husband and/or Dad who stuck around. Women in general see him as a caring Dad and husband and quite frankly I’m sure a lot of women think he’s sexy. Working class men believe he swooped in to save their livelihood a la the auto bailout.
Democrats have offered goodies to all their core constituencies during the past four years. Despite what they can see out there with their own eyes, they choose to disbelieve what they see in favor of believing everything Obama says. It’s him and his sycophants against the world. They’re a tight, cozy coterie that lives in their own bubble of truth. They are also the most self centered and self absorbed group of people to ever emerge as a majority in the American electorate. They care nothing about the greater good of this and future generations. They care only about what they have been told they personally deserve and are entitled to. The Me Generation has taken over our electorate and the Democrats have their finger dead center on the pulse of this group.
Romney was the Grinch who was going to steal Christmas. Obama was the coolest, hippest Santa that ever lived.
I don’t care how sound and well stated your arguments are, they will fall on deaf ears if you have an electorate which is only concerned about what they can get, not what they can give. And whose thoughts extend only as far as the next text message they receive.
Republicans will never be able to give out more than Democrats do. That’s a losing battle.
Like it or not, we’re going to have to come up with our version of Obama as far as being hip and cool goes (not his deceptiveness). We can’t run another Grandfather.
The goose that laid the golden egg is slowly being strangled to death. But Obama is King.
“The American people who make their choices intelligently need to hang in there for another four years...”
My FRiend, what makes you think they’ll be anything left in another four years? This election was it.
Maybe they’re a shovel-ready project. Maybe they’re opening tomorrow. Maybe they’ll never open, but something else will that hasn’t been done before. Whatever is going to happen next, it isn’t America any longer. Leave America. It’s already left you. Australia, Israel, New Zealand, Antarctica, wherever. Go there. Don’t stay.
Some things just don’t make sense this election and I’ve talked to friends who agree. Fewer Obama signs, less talk and seemingly less enthusiasm. Our people were pumped up and out there voting and then BOOM, like a zot out of the sky, Dingle-Barry wins........
Thanks justiceseeker93.
I agree with you, Obama has been unleashed, he showed his true face during this election, telling outright lies about Romney, he has been rewarded for being full of iniquity, there will be hell to pay. The voters decided to kill the Golden Goose, what will they say when they run out of food stamps. Cause it’s gonna happen, you can’t declare war on the working man and give to the takers. Eventually, there will be nothing left to give, what then? We are not part of Obama’s plan, he looks at us with contempt.
My daughter just graduated from college, some people she knows are in college right now, 4 roommates, receiving a combined amount of 1,000 per month worth of foodstamps. They spend their extra cash on expensive clothes. That’s why we lost. People have no shame, they feel they are owed. That’s why Obama won. Don’t you go blaming other hard working Americans for this injustice by delaring some sort of twisted class warfare trash. Class warfare is not the answer, I don’t care how you decide to repackage it.
Is it possible that they just didn’t count our votes?
Are you sure you wanted to respond to my post? People are not lost they just did not have a clear, viable, alternative. The candidate did not lay out a solid case for why Obama is such a loser and how he’s destroyed us. You can not win with rino’s it’s been PROVEN over 5 elections now...I blame the republican party for being such stupid dumbasses as to not know how to beat an incumbent with THIS economy! To keep using the failed strategies of the past is ludicrous!
Now he can finish the fundamental transformation of America. Just today, two interesting stories came out. One is that they’re empowering TSA (you know, the government-paid perverts who feel people up at airports) to monitor everywhere you travel. The other is that last week, one of our drones in international airspace was attacked by two Iranian planes. (I wonder why we’re finding out about that now.)
Obama has his Internet kill switch, his monitoring of your every movement, his ability to arrest anyone any time for no reason, and other tyrannical powers. He has absolutely no moral scruples about using any of them, because he has more flexibility now that he’s been re-elected. And there is NO limit to what is permissible under the moral code to which Hussein subscribes. NONE.
He also demonstrated that he is completely lacking in basic human compassion. four Americans are murdered and the worst he can say is that “you’ll always have bumps in the road” and that’s “not optimal.” He should have been hung with those remarks — but that would violate the Marquis of Queensbury rules by which the Establishment RINO losers play politics.
Whatever it takes to eliminate any opposition is what he’ll try. And don’t expect Speaker Wah Wah to allow any Republican to stand up to it.
Hussein is a totalitarian who has shown his true colors — and they are not red, white, and blue.
Hussein thinks he should be caliph. That’s the real reason he authorized the bin Laden killing — to eliminate a rival.
You can’t win when they don’t count your vote. Think about it, all the early voting, Spain counting the votes, the best form of voter fraud is just to never count the votes in the first place. Using dead people to vote? Forget about it, that’s too compicated. It’s easier just to never count the votes in the first place. Figure it out? Why does Obama seem like a Dictator? Cause he IS! What’s the number one thing Dictators do? They steal elections. Once we stop blaming each other and start looking at them, that’s when the stuff will hit the fan, cause they are coming for you and for me. Cause as long as we are fighting each other, we are manageble.
You are a master of understatement my friend! ;d
