I spent 28 years as an FSO, including 21 years overseas. Beck is really off track on much of this. Amb Stevens was a career FSO. Smith was a State employee (former AF vet) who was a TDY communicator from his permanent posting in Europe. I could go on and on about this fantasy that Beck has created. He needs to be better informed before launching into such conspiratorial nonsense.
