The battle-hardened veterans of the military favor Mitt Romney over Barack Obama by a huge margin, 66% to 22%, according to an October poll conducted by the Military Times -- and the two issues most important to the voters were the economy and the character of the candidate. 66% of respondents said that either the economy or the character of the candidate was the deciding issue.
The group surveyed was comprised of 3,100 respondents who were roughly two-thirds active-duty and one-third reserve component members. Almost 29% have spent more than two cumulative years deployed since 9/11, and another group that size has spent one to two cumulative years deployed.
One 28-year-old Army captain said:
When I talk to my soldiers, its not social issues. Its almost not even military issues. What it comes down to is pocketbook issues. They currently see Mitt Romney as being stronger for their pocketbook. It comes down to taxes how much are they going to have to pay and are they going to be able to find jobs if they leave the military.
Romneys business acumen resonated with the veterans. Capt. John Bowe, a Marine military policeman, said hes voting for Romney because Obama has failed with the economy. You cannot add $6 trillion to the [national] debt in 3½ years and not expect massive repercussions, he said...

If you have good memory, you’ll remember that the year he was thrown out, Bill Clinton ran a study of how big a portion of the US military would be willing to open fire on Americans.
Came to something over 20, maybe a full 25, percent.
“Who are the 22% I wonder?”
Support personnel.
No combat soldier could ever support him. They hate O’Bummer for his silly rules of engagement that are causing the suicide rate to skyrocket in the military.
Okay, who will stop the other 75-80% from shooting the soldiers who shoot the civilians? And civilians in this country come in two flavors ... already armed and running back to the house/car to get their gun. There really are no unarmed civilians in the United States. Read this:

Even support personnel when I was in were well-trained, professional soldiers, for the most part. Has everything changed?
I'd venture a guess, but then I'd be labeled a racist and homophobe, if that give you a hint? lol
My only surprise is that the numbers are not 90-10 considering Dear Leaders disdain for our Military, his ROE's which are causing needless casualties and his hatred for everything our Brave men and women stand for.
This despicable, Chicago-thug, corrupt, Regime knows how our Military feels about him and the reason they (and their minions in many states) will do everything to insure their votes don't count as they have in the past.
Well, if you *really* want to go worst case, what civilians will stand up after the military nukes a city to set an example?
Probably won’t ever happen, much more likely worst case: Empire, by Orson Scott Card.
Support is one thing..... Not getting your ballots due to a suspicious plane crash 10/19 ia another thing !
According to my military friend it's the blacks (though a smaller percentage than the 95% that support Obama nationally) who support Obama for the same reason as Colin Powell, because he shares the same skin color as them, the former "don't ask, don't tell" crew and a lot of the career officers whos think kissing up to the party in charge will further there chances for advancement through the ranks.
This is disappointing. When I was in it was 5:1 republican.
If only they got to vote.
“Who are the 22 % I wonder?”......Colin Powell groupies
You don’t see many blacks in Special Forces. I asked one Special Forces guy about medals. His comment, medals are for blacks. We do things every day that if they do them one time, they get a medal.
I am not racist. I am for equal opportunity and equal treatment. No preferential treatment for any group.

I used to really like Colin Powell. I think he has gone senile after he left the military.
