This is good example of "reductio ad absurdium":
"If being the best person for the office was the ONLY consideration in the voting booth EVERYONE would write in their mother, father, favorite uncle or aunt or even their damn dog..."

I'm saying don't trust the machines.
Or to be more "politically correct": "Trust but verify" - Ronald Reagan regarding Russian machinations.
Trusting the "parties" is what got us where we are now.
ALL of them had a hand in allowing the marxist and his cronies in the seat of preeminent power.

Often “reductio ad absurdium” is Latin for I don't have the smarts to convincingly contradict reality so I will affect intellectual superiority over the dirt beneath my feet and the clouds above my head.
