It would be more likely for him to attack Israel, under the guise they were going to attack Iran, or round up all Christians for spreading hate.
More likely that he and the Iranian mullahs will cut a deal for Iran to say it is halting it’s nuclear program “in order to show the world how peaceful we are.” Then, Obama can claim credit — and the mullahs can go on making their weapons while showing their support for a fellow tribesman.

His October Surprise is going to be a speech at Ohio State promising to “forgive all your student loans”.

There's still a couple of months left in his term and he would have to actually DO something besides attack.
It could/would be proven later that he attacked for purely political purposes and I think THAT would lead to SOME kind of reprimand or charge (wishfully thinking here .. ).
Romney would have a clear path to bringing charges against a whole SLEW of ex-cadre that we'd prpbably learn a few had disappeared.
The complications to starting a war at this point is pure insanity.

While I wouldn’t put much past Barry, I think it’s getting too far into October for something on the scale of an attack on Iran. If it starts right before the election—now less than a month away—but isn’t over, or goes poorly, I think people will see through it. One of the Dem talking points is that Romney is too militaristic—this wouldn’t help.
Also, although Obama will happily lie to you, and use legalistic mechanisms to kick you in the nuts, I don’t think he has much real fight in him. Anything beyond a remote control, supposedly surgical strike is not his style. I can’t see him getting on TV and rousing militant zeal for anything serious—that is, something with a chance of significant loss. It would be like Dukakis in a tank.
He might bomb something in Libya, perhaps an aspirin factory--and Big Media will lionize him for his "courage" and "bold statesmanship."
