Tape the debate; watch the baseball games (How many Americans will do just that?)
one man's opinion...

Posted on 10/03/2012 1:25:00 PM PDT by ken5050

The battle for the AL East division ends tonight (perhaps) Orioles are tied with the Evil Empire, aka the Yankees). Orioles have a tough game against the Rays, while the Yankees get the pathetic Red Sox ( and they'e MY team, gawd help me..)Both games start at 7Pm..so tney should be over about the same time as the debate ends. They you can turn on FOX and hear Juan Williams tell you that Obama won the debate..

Yeah I’m thinking we need to have Ilitch, Dombrowski, and Leyland take over running Detroit.

Hamilton just struck out in the top of the 6th. A’s up 8-5 over the Rangers

No need to watch a pair of leftists arguing. I’ll walk my dogs and play with my kids. Far better use of my time.

Today is the last day of the regular season. Then only playoffs and the World Series, and then a five month drought before the next season starts. You can see politicans on TV any day of the year.

Two reasons to watch the debates: if you are still undecided about whether or not to vote for Obama, or to be able to compare your impressions of the debate with the mainstream media spin.

I can't stand the idea of watching Obama for 45 minutes...I watch the clips later.

If Baltimore and St. Louis make it to the World Series, will it be the Angry Birds series?

The two teams haven't faced each other in a World Series since 1944.

I think the A’s a for real, their pitching is scary good, and now they have the offense....that four-game sweep of the Yankees was their turning point.

Frankly, both are too boring.

I’ll be doing what I do every evening...sitting in and around the hot tub sipping beer and listening to my podcasts of Levin and Rush.

Can't stand The Kenyan either....must change the channel, but I want to see Gov. Romney out-match him.

Just took a few minutes out of my work day; went to a nearby chapel and said a fervent prayer for God to guide our candidate tonight.

With some luck (and good relief pitching for the A's), he'll only have one more at bat, hopefully a k.

I hope Cabrera takes a break tonight, rests the ankle a bit.

I just read the history of the triple crown over the weekend, it was always tough to win, but with all the new pitching styles, specialized hitters, etc. it hasn't been won since 1967, and before that only 13 players have won it. That some people (sports writers and some fans) are diminishing this as a milestone is incomprehensible.

I'd say it's a good bet he'll get a K.

Do people even know the Oakland Athletics are at the threshold of the best record in the American League?

A’s were everything the Rangers weren’t: poised, emotional...The Rangers have played like a bunch of dead fish the last few weeks. They’re “one and done” on Friday.

Sitting here in SF watching a really great baseball comeback. The A’s vs. The Rangers (least salary @55million vs. one of the most @121 millions). Billy Bean “money ball” is even more true today than ever.

The A’s have to be the real baseball story for this year, far out shadowing anything else. Now the top of the seventh, 8-5 A’s.

This has to be the most exciting game of the year for the A’s. What will all those East Coast ESPN types have to say if the A’s win today and better, if it happens, there is a Bay Area world series?

Its not like the old days when it was on TV once and you could never analyze it again. Quite frankly, we need diversions to remain balanced as individuals.

Just today I was thinking of the fact that baseball is something that ties me to my great grandparents. My great grandmother always had “her soaps” or “her Tigers” on. My great grandfather had a whole shelf full of notebooks where he kept a running tally of all the stats for years. He’d listen or watch and keep score like a regular scorekeeper. His books are in the museum now but I’d like to take a look at them.

I don’t plan to tape or watch the debate - what would be the point?

East Coast ESPN types

I hate listening to them calling games. Last year they wee calling a game in Detroit and a shot of the Ambassador bridge came up and one of them asked "Is that the Golden Gate bridge?". The clowns didn't even know what city they were in.

ESPN - If you ain't the Yankees or Red Sox, you ain't squat.

I plan to follow the debate play by play here on FR. I trust Freeper commentary more than what the enlightened elite have already planned to tell me.

IGNITE YOUR NATITUDE, Teddy won!

I will be watching the Fighting Showalters on MASN, so I will see about a million damn campaign commercials; the debates can go twist. Who the hell changes their mind based on that freakshow anyhow?

I agree, the fact is many of us who were born and raised on the east coast,- who now live on the west coast, never realized how egocentric those ESPN types were until we have to now live three hours later than they do, each and every day.

The same goes for political coverage.
