My wife volunteers at a local museum. Last Thursday a family from Kenya came in. The parents were well educated and are currently living in the United States because they said there were no good educational opportunities for their children in Kenya and because they are Christians it had become much more dangerous for them.

They were extremely hostile toward Obama. They said to my wife, “You do know that your president was born in Kenya.” They said that everyone in Kenya knows that he was born there. But they said he is not Kenyan because he did not live there. They said that Obama was a “liar” and that he had supported people in Kenya who were trying to turn it into a Muslim country. They blamed Obama for much of the recent violence.

I don’t know if I believe this story. It sounds a little too perfect.

I just don’t believe that some random Kenyans said “you know Obama was born in Keyna.” How would they know that?

Anyway, no offense, but this sounds a little bit too convenient.
