Most political predictions are made by biased pollsters, pundits, or prognosticators who are either rooting for Republicans or Democrats. I am neither. I am a former Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee, and a well-known Vegas oddsmaker with one of the most accurate records of predicting political races.
Neither Obama nor Romney are my horses in the race. I believe both Republicans and Democrats have destroyed the U.S. economy and brought us to the edge of economic disaster. My vote will go to Libertarian Presidential candidate Gary Johnson in November, whom I believe has the most fiscally conservative track record of any Governor in modern U.S. political history. Without the bold spending cuts of a Gary Johnson or Ron Paul, I dont believe its possible to turnaround America.
But as an oddsmaker with a pretty remarkable track record of picking political races, I play no favorites. I simply use common sense to call them as I see them. Back in late December I released my New Years Predictions. I predicted back then- before a single GOP primary had been held, with Romney trailing for months to almost every GOP competitor from Rick Perry to Herman Cain to Newt- that Romney would easily rout his competition to win the GOP nomination by a landslide. I also predicted that the presidential race between Obama and Romney would be very close until election day. But on election day, Romney will win by a landslide similar to Reagan-Carter in 1980.
Understanding history, today I am even more convinced of a resounding Romney victory. Thirty-two years ago at this moment in time, Reagan was losing by 9 points to Carter. Romney is right now running even in polls. So why do most pollsters give Obama the edge?
“He has got to go....or the country may well be lost. Im not at all pleased with Romney....but I loathe, detest and despise his opponent.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
I would not vote to reelect Obama even if the only alternative were to put Slick Willie back in but we are facing disaster regardless of who wins. Romney is asking to live out the old line we used to hear in Carolina, “Walking into Hell with gasoline drawers on”. What we face is beyond the power of mortal man to correct in the short term. Obama is astoundingly, disgustingly awful but he is the symptom, not the real problem. The real problem has been building over many decades and will not be swiftly corrected.
First we need an end to the amazingly biased alphabet “news” services which are purely propaganda outlets for the left wing fruitcakes who have taken over the “democratic” party. Fox News is not the answer. Fox only seems good in contrast to the others, watching Fox is like eating a balogna sandwich because your only other choice is a mudpie.
As I have said before, anyone who goes on TV now and says what used to be simple, incontrovertible common sense as obvious as the sunrise is called an idiot or an extremist while those who spout the kind of idiocy that was sufficient to have someone declared mentally incompetent a few decades ago are rewarded with high government office or their own television show.
Ain’t that the truth!
He mentions he once ran for office as a Libertarian.

“From CAESARS PALACE
A Las Vegas odds maker gives his reasons for big win by Romney in November. Interesting analysis.”
Remember Sportin' Life, the drug dealer in Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess? Bess ended up running off with him after all. Poor Porgy...
I’ve heard of this guy before....just can’t place it though.
See post #84.
Ebeling should have acknowledged Root by name. That would have eliminated the confusion. I had no idea who the “odds maker” was until fellow freepers pointed it out on this thread. Thanks to all of you! :)
McLame had it in the bag....with Sarah PULLING him over the finish line, 3 points ahead, if I remember correctly.
Until, of course, he “suspended” his campaign to “get back to DC” and vote FOR the bail out.
Then the bubble burst. With that, and NOT allowing Sarah free reign, we got cursed with this idiot/evil in chief.
Amen!!!
I don’t want to get my hopes up, but of course, cannot help myself. I do think Romney will win.....
However, what I’m more concerned about is what happens between Election Day landslide till January.
That evil idiot in chief is still in control.
I didn’t know who the “Las Vegas odds maker” was when I first posted the piece. Turns out it’s a guy named Wayne Allen Root and this is just a reprint of something he wrote back in May.

It’s still very much inline with my current thinking on the race.
Good! and I agree.
What about the daughter Megan?
Ping to post 34.
Poll Ping.
What makes you think she voted for her father?
I goofed.
I placed a wager there on George Bush in 2004.
Could have sworn they were in London.
Lesson learned...
After your 60th birthday, always verify your memory!
How many more people depend on the government for a paycheck today vs. 2008? That's the group he's gained.
Florida ground game- at least in Central Fl where I am is SUPERB this year. I know several people who have NEVER done anything political who are walking the neighborhoods and making phone calls. Just got a text from one of them making calls this afternoon from our local Romney office- she said it’s starting to change to enthusiasm for Romney along with- don’t care WHO is running, am voting against O.
My son who is on FB (I refuse to get on FB!) tells me some interesting changes he’s noticed this year. Some of his formerly liberal “friends” have changed to libertarian and are looking hard at Romney..but no matter whether they vote for R or not- they will not vote for O. Also- the ones who are diehard O fans no matter what have gone very quiet since Benghazi.
Just a little bit of anecdotal stuff from the hotly contested Florida I-4 corridor.
