How dare Sarah Palin talk about those "death panels," which are awesome and desperately needed? #IReadItInTheNYTimes

Remember when Sarah Palin was ridiculed as an alarmist nut job for suggesting Obamacare would usher in death panels? The New York Times called the false death panel rumor a boogey-man spell that resonated with some impressionable folk.

#NYT today: I argue that to truly contain Medicare costs, we need a better way of allocating (rationing) health care: nyti.ms/StypQE

Impressionable folk like Obamas former Car Czar Steven Rattner?
We need death panels.
Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently rationing, by its proper name the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.
But in the pantheon of toxic issues the famous third rails of American politics none stands taller than overtly acknowledging that elderly Americans are not entitled to every conceivable medical procedure or pharmaceutical.
Hold on the savior in chiefs health care overhaul wont work without death panels doling out an Obama-approved fair share of health care?

No doubt these liberals will be issuing apologies to Sarah Palin, who they mocked for saying liberals wanted death panels, any day now

The New York Times published Rattners op-ed earlier this month, but its making its way around the conservative Twittersphere today after Rush Limbaugh and Power Line both noted, Sarah Palin was right.

Rattner touts Britains rationing body, the Orwellian-named NICE, as a model for making stomach-wrenching choices about the distribution of health care.
Take Britain, which provides universal coverage with spending at proportionately almost half of American levels. Its National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence uses a complex quality-adjusted life year system to put an explicit value (up to about $48,000 per year) on a treatments ability to extend life.
At the least, the Independent Payment Advisory Board should be allowed to offer changes in services and costs. We may shrink from such stomach-wrenching choices, but they are inescapable.
Medicare is unsustainable and difficult choices are in our future no matter which candidate wins the presidential election. But as Palin wrote in her now-famous Facebook note on death panels:
The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost.
Still strike you as paranoid and alarmist, libs? Steven Rattner doesnt think so.
A Beheading Center in every state
All anyone has to do is read Dr. Ezekiel Immanuel’s (yes, Rahm’s brother) article in the January 29, 2009, issue of Lancet to know exactly what is involved...and this was written as an “ethics” article.
Actually, you don’t even have to read it, just look at the one graph it contains and then you know, at my age, they really don’t consider that I have much to offer society, so “be gone” money spending lush.
VERY GOOD!Go to The Head of The Class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, just wait until the seniors find out that as the age of 76, they will no longer be eligible for CANCER TREATMENT.
Rationing of healthcare .. and the older you are, the less care you will receive.
death panels will be one of the thousands and thousands of regulations that are dropped on us the week after the election.
it’s the most devious and deceitful thing ever perpetrated by our president in the history of the republic.

Has commie Rattner considered clearing illegals from Medicare and Medicaid rolls? Also, fraud is rampant.
Let’s not forget Holdren either.
As the left would say, all the social security, pension checks, medical needs and land/property cuts costs and boosts GDP. /s
I don’t get it.
Democrats claim that people without insurance die sooner but with socialized medicine they pick and choose who dies sooner and we all pay for it.
Communism never succeeds if they can’t kill off the opposition. That’s what Obamacare is all about - denying care to those that don’t agree with the left.
“Thats what Obamacare is all about - denying care to those that dont agree with the left.”
Good observation. No sooner was Obamacare passed, than Obama began to exempt his friends. Obama can giveth and taketh away by executive decree. You can call Barry anything you want, but don’t call him inflexible.
Nevil Shute wrote a couple of novels damning British socialism in the 50s.
The Far Country is a novel by Nevil Shute, first published in 1952.
In this novel, Shute has some harsh things to say about the new (British) National Health Service, as well as the socialist Labour government, themes he would later develop more fully in In the Wet.
Bring back the Chevy Corvair?
Sarah Palin proved correct again and again and again.
Based on your reminder, is there any question that political affiliation will affect the liklihood of treatment?
OTOH, the Van Jones and Valerie Jarretts would have no problem packing Freepers into cattle cars . . . if they thought they could get away with it.
Gov Plain is the greatest political genius this country has ever produced dwarfing everybody else with her sheer intellect.
