The 1979 column was written by the late Vernon Jarrett (Valerie Jarrett's former father-in-law and fellow radical) points the way.
I listened to Obama announcing his run for the presidency in 2007.
At the time, I commented in the live FR thread ‘who is this guy and who is backing him? A person doesn’t just wake up one morning and decide to run for the presidency without some serious backing, money, organization, etc.’
Of course, the MSM who claimed all rights to the vetting process never really bothered to vet Obama — not for 2008 and not for 2012.

Please move along.
Oh hey! Look over there! I think Romney made another gaffe!
Does 1979 newspaper column shed light on 2008 campaign story? (Possible Saudi support for Hussein)

The money paragraph:
Quote
There is no proof of anything here, of course. We don’t know that a close associate of the Saudi royal family funneled oil money into the education of Barack Obama (and presumably other Americans) on spec, hoping he would rise through the political system and be in a position to cripple American oil production and take a hard line against Israel’s defense against a nuclear attack. There is no proof ot it. But there is a reasonable suspicion, given the pedigrees of Jarrett and Sutton, that these influential figures actually do know something about the inside story of the curious, inexplicable rise of Barack Obama on the slender reed of his actual accomplishments in life.
Unquote
Amazing how Jarrett could look at a pothead in 1979 and see the person who will bring the USA to it’s knees.
Commies definitely have long term goals and they stick to them.
