I find it quite interesting to watch Scripture come to pass.
While this is the primary indictment against man since the Fall, it does seem that this attitude has been ratcheted up in the last 100 years or so.
But it is certainly important to keep Luke 21:28 in mind, lest we despair:
"When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near."
Currently, America is damned for its collective abuse of our Freedoms, and will suffer destruction and loss of those Freedoms under a second Obama term.
You are not the only one who sees this. :(
Spiritual maturity is being able to see God's hand and His power moving through the matrix of his promises across the face of the earth.
I wrote that one down....
You are in good company...
you’re not alone! Many of us are watching and seeing signs in the world that were long ago prophesied in the Bible.
I am trying to get ever closer to Him these days, praying, reading my Bible...I am so glad He is in charge of all things!
Blessings and prayers of comfort and peace for you!
Our pastor had a sermon on this Sunday! Not as related to the end of the world type events in the Middle East. But his basis was the chapter in Exodus where God provides for his people with manna and quail. Long story short, the point was that if we fail to see God in the ordinary, we will fail to see his work in the extra-ordinary.
To each their own.
I ofter wonder if God is raising the Muslims against West for the same reason he rose the Babylonians against Israel.
Everything works too perfect not to see God in everything.
The question for me is whether Obama is God’s vehicle of judgement against America and whether He will relent after four years or if we are doomed to another four. Has America repented enough for some prosperity to return or are we headed down the economic cliff for our unrighteousness?
Having spent 16 of the past 24 months unemployed, I certainly feel His wrath and call to repentance. Jesus picked me up like a wandering sheep and brought me back to His flock. Will He do the same for our country or is it too late?
When did we, collectively as a nation, turn away from God? Was it in the 60s? 70s? Roe v Wade? At 62, I can’t remember the turning-point. Maybe it was so gradual that I just don’t remember a break point. Anyone know?
We do NOT acknowledge Him as Creator...instead, He is 'booed' and rejected on American soil.
I do and I have been advising others around me who don’t see how God is working in their own life, as well. So thanks for this thread, it shows it’s on your mind as much as mine!
Since God created heaven and earth, he has complete control over it.
If I write a computer program, I have complete control over it’s design, it is up to me how it will work. A good programmer knows before the program runs which instructions will execute and when.
If I design and build a house, I determine where the rooms and stairs are and what materials are used.
Sounds very simple, but perhaps worth contemplating for some folks.
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
I know what you mean. These things are my mind alot lately. I just finished reading The Harbinger. I don’t really recommend it as literature but then again it was written as literature. It’s well worth a read and some thought.
The book "The Harbinger" was extremely helpful for my perspective and with my contemporary understanding about how things work and how things are now and why.
"Interesting times" barely describes the here and now. It's scary fascinating how well propaganda works and how blindly trusting we American humans are in the world our parents built for us and in those who run it for us, instead of He who created the world and the actual rules it runs by.
We are soon to get another big lesson, since we refuse to pay attention to the small lessons we receive daily.
All according to the Plan...
