(This essay and last weeks When The Music StopsHow Our Cities May Explode In Violence were both written in response to the article published on July 25, 2012 in the semi-official Small Wars Journal titled Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A Vision of the Future. My twin essays represent starkly different visions of the future that would-be tyrants, their hopeful henchmen and other self-deluded nimrods may want to consider, before ordering the U.S. military or federal agencies to suppress Americans.)

"What I Saw At The Coup"
Short-fuse fiction by Matt Bracken intended to spread alarm among progressives, in the spirit of dispiriting them from ever attempting such a mad folly in order to cling to power.

McGee BTT as always. I can think of no greater honor than to be on that list of 2000. If I’m not, though...well, then it’s open season. In Finland during the Winter War they used to publish the sniper kills in the newspapers like sports scores. Just sayin’.

Always a good read. Thanks Matt.

Very nice story. Do you think the leftist media would start noticing if we all started posting these kinds of things? I am sure they would ridicule it, at least at first, as our ‘wet dreams’ or something. Then again, they already seemed worried about the “When the Music Stops...” essay didn’t they?

Poor Cathy Carlsen.
She was always pimping for the assault rifle ban in her reports.
