That is because projection is all they got. They are so afraid of Obama, they will attack the faith and principles of others who will not betray that faith or principle to vote for Romney.

While I agree that Romney's nomination tends to bring out the worst in us, when guys like 2nd Division Vet and JimRob are driven to holding their nose and voting for him and hoping for the best, I can only think their motivations are sincere, and see no good coming from slamming their judgment, except in defense of my own.

I try not to take the slams personally, and look forward to the days after the election when we start working towards conservative elections in 2014 and 2016.

I normally am not much of a Bible quoter, but the razing of the field by Romney has only brought about a situation that reminds me of St. Paul's Second Epistle to the Corinthians:

"For I fear lest perhaps when I come I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found by you such as you would not. Lest perhaps contentions, envyings, animosities, dissensions, detractions, whisperings, swellings, seditions, be among you."

(2 Cor 12:20 Douay-Rheims)

Well stated. I also don't hold any ill against those who feel they need to vote for Romney due the present Marxist in office. I stated as much on another thread when one of these Romney-pushers threw JimRob's statement about holding his nose to reluctantly vote Romney due Obama. I don't begrudge him his vote. However, the Romney pushers do indeed begrudge us ours if it is not for their chosen political savior. The title of this thread alone reveals that fact.

I draw the line on those who go berserk on those of us who state we are not going to vote for Romney because our principles dictate we vote in concert with our faith and principles.

My focus is reminding ourselves that we are in this mess BECAUSE of surrendered and compromised principles for the sake of expedience. The American Christian church is lukewarm and it got that way precisely because our faith and principles were something that could be waved aside when it was convenient or expedient to satisfy the dictates of the flesh.

Your choice of scripture is excellent also, but cautioning against those that would use it to suggest the dissensions and animosities are due to those beholden to their principles and faith refusing to go along with the herd.

Scripture is clear we should not force someone to betray their conscience and commit what they would consider to be sin (I Corinthians 8). Yet we read with regularity now, that refusal to do so, counts us among the enemy. To which I say - so be it then. God comes first, before family, before country - lest we make those idols before Him.
