We [the people] own this country.Clint Eastwood
I feel like I ought to start out each of my articles anymore with a disclaimer, or caveat saying something along the lines of WARNING: The contents of this article are to be considered null and void in the event of a Reichstag Fire, false flag event, and/or an invasion by Russian Spetsnaz in collusion with Northcom,or words to that effect.
My intent is not to make light of such concerns, as God knows we have reason enough to be more than a bit edgy these dayswhat with the Patriot Act, NDAA, the torrent of Obama EOs (Executive Orders), various government agencies stockpiling millions of rounds of ammo, and other such things.
Personally, I am what you might call a cynical optimistI hope for the best, but plan for the worst. I keep myself open to the idea that the US can peacefully pull itself out of the colossal mess that it is currently mired inbut I have enough guns, ammo, freeze dried food and whatnot to open a small survivalist store.
Be that as it maythe main topic that I wish to address in this article is my decision to back the Romney/Ryan ticket, and the fallout from that. Contrary to what some of you may think, I have not rushed off and enlisted in the Dark Side. I am as opposed to the Big Bank/ Big Corporation/Big Government/Big War cabal as ever...

“Somebody — we don’t even know who, yet — is playing Texas awfully tough.”
I’m a native Texan myself, though I haven’t been back since I joined the military 25 years ago. Watching from afar what the feds are doing to my beloved home state has me wondering how much Texans are prepared to endure. The state I knew would be in near rebellion by now.
Bump.
I live in Maryland so it’s not like my vote counts, but even if I was in a swing state, I’d still vote third party. I’m fed up with “anything but, we just need to make sure the next four years are safe and worry about the consequences the election after that,” it’s like having gangrene in a toe and refusing to amputate, hoping that other methods will work and it will be healed, and then the whole foot has it, but you keep pushing the alternative methods, until finally the whole leg has it and then the other leg has it and you either amputate both legs or die. It could have stopped with just losing a single toe.
Securing the next four years isn’t enough if Romney will fail to turn things around (and I believe he will fail) because it weakens the position of the Republican candidate in 2016. They will put Obama back up, and he will win if Romney fails to get it right in the next four years. Not only will Obama win, but he’ll have another 4 years of blaming his predecessor.
I would rather have his predecessor be “The Democrat Barry Obama” when he fails over a four-year period instead of “The Republican Mitt Romney.” I would rather see him attempt to blame Bush when Bush hasn’t been in office for 6 years, than see him say “If only you’d elected me, we wouldn’t be in this pickle! I’ve only had 2 years to clean up Romney’s mess, what do you expect?” Make no mistake, the policies in place now are going to make the next 4 years difficult no matter what. Romney won’t turn it around, because he’s not conservative, even if he’s Republican.
This is the second election where I’ve been old enough to vote. There is only one way my voice will be heard in a state like Maryland, and it’s not by voting for Romney. That’s saying, “I will do anything to keep my toe, though it’s probably futile.” I’m voting third party because it’s the closest I can get to saying “I will do anything to stop this infection.”
“This is the second election where Ive been old enough to vote.”
I am sorry you have had such muck candidates to choose between. I was fortunate to get Reagan in the second cycle, after watching the hapless and insipid Ford lose to the even more hapless and insipid Carter.
I wish I could truthfully tell you that it gets better.
I dont succumb or subscribe to such plantation logic.
I also am not a subscriber to the Obama Wing of FR !
Obama must GO................
I’m still wondering why the Romney supporters think that we’re beholden to them to vote for their candidate, like they naturally own our votes, and we’re “stealing” them from them if we don’t vote for Myth Rom-gay or something.
Seriously, some of these Romney supporters are some childish, childish people. Not all of them, but some of them are definitely getting there.
Frankly, I think it’s because they’re starting to act a lot like Obama supporters - we MUST elect their guy because he’s going to “save” the country. This attitude shows a disconcertingly worldly view of things, like government is going to save us, because government is our god or something. Many of Romney’s supporters are turning into the mirror image of Obama supporters - desperate, lovers of government more than lovers of God, convinced that only earthly expedients and the arm of man can save us. Some of them are even starting to sound like Romney is going to solve all of their personal problems, too (seriously, there was one thread last night that was at least edging into that territory).
I haven’t the heart to suggest to the Romney supporters that it could very well be that if Romney wins in November, it’s because Romney is being used by God as His instrument of judgment on America. After all, when even “conservatives” actively WANT a pro-death, pro-gay, anti-freedom candidate to win, we’re well and good into the “getting what we asked for, whether we really wanted it or not” realm.
But that would be gauche. So I dare not suggest it.
The only reason I can think of to ever possibly vote for Romney would be that it might help Republicans on down the ticket get elected. Maybe, just maybe (but I won’t hold my breath here) they could act as a restraint on Romney’s more...unfortunate...tendencies. At any rate, if he does win in Nov., starting Nov. 7, there needs to be a grassroots organisation that kicks into place to be ready and willing to primary him - even as a sitting President - in 2016 should he step out of line. I don’t care if it embarrasses him or the Party leadership.
First, he's not our tool. All of us will tell you he's not our choice at all.
Unfortunately, there is only one person left who can get rid of the worst, most destructive, most anti-everything we stand for administration ever. Like it or not, that is Mitt, and you need to hear this: The man is a RINO squish, he is not an American hating, muzzie/Marxist tool, he isn't interested in destroying America!!!
If you haven't learned to fear what we've already seen this man do, and doubly fear what he will do unconstrained by election, you need a bit of reading in the history department.
I'd highly suggest you think about this for one minute rather than emote this stubborn ABR crap, it just makes no sense what you are saying.
Yeah, we'll teach them GOPe sums a beeches, we'll just allow the Marxist anti-American muzzie and his minions another four years.
Wow. That's the only reason? I'm really fighting the urge to call you an idiot. But that wouldn't be nice, so I'll keep that opinion to myself.
**You will make it possible for more abortions to happen.**
No way that’s accurate, WOSG. The Scotus is not making any different ruling if Romney becomes president.
In fact, if John Roberts has a chance to overturn Roe, I’m sure he’ll come up with some way to call it a tax. /s
BUMP.
vanity kils
As far as I’m concerned, both Obama and Romney are my enemies. I will attack them with near equal fervor, except Obama deserves far more of our attention since a sitting POTUS has an advantage.
In a race, all of the other candidates are your opponents. A third party candidate needs all of his opposition to be taken down.
I am voting for Obama, and if I don't support Romney then my understanding of liberty is wrong now too. Now that is the most bizarre extrapolation you could make from this conversation, no one is saying that, or has come near that. However, you may lose your liberty to the stupid notion that giving an American hating Marxist muzzie another four years is a good idea......wow, why didn't I think of that?
Again, I can no longer tell the difference in those who support Obama or those who support Romney. They say the exact same things about principled Conservatives.
Good grief, such utter stupidity, you think that's an intelligent sentence? *eyeroll*
will tell us that our rights do not come from God, but from Government and that we all belong to government,Another ridiculous statement, where are you getting this stuff?
You're not a "principled conservative, you're simply stubborn, and apparently fairly dense. That you believe what you post is actually worrisome, being on the border of insanity is not a great plan.....
Save it. That fear-mongering crap doesn't work on principled Conservatives of faith. We're not going to practice insanity anymore. We fell for that crap back in 2008 and have repented of our actions of betraying our principles for expedience. Never again.
In fact, these childish threats that Romney's rabid supporters and throwing out at Conservatives of principle, are not any different than the fear-mongering rhetoric the Democrat Overlords threaten their plantation slaves with. You know, the threats about what will happen to them if Conservatives win elections in order to keep them in line to vote for the Party candidate chosen for them. "Republicans will starve old people, put blacks back in chains and take away your right to have sex!". Same crap - supposedly different party.
But it's not really a different party now is it? Romney's record is the same as Obama's. They're both Statists. One is a Marxist, the other, a Democrat Socialist. Both bastard children of Socialism. Romney's disdain and contempt for Conservatives is the same as Obama's. (Choosing Ryan is pure politics, same as it was when McCain chose Palin).
Those of us wise enough to understand what time it is, are not susceptible to fall for your fear mongering. We're already past November. We're not voting for Romney, and the more you join the chorus of Obama's people to castigate us 'Right Wing purists" - the more we see you no differently than the drones for Obama.
