Yep. Dr. Bugbee became a good personal friend of mine; we took a number of trips down to DC museums on weekends, and he spoke at my commissioning. I was there from ‘87 to ‘91. Bruce passed away in the summer of ‘94.

I took Dr. Bugbee’s Middle East History class. His knowledge of the region was incredible.

He would go to the Pentagon on weekends and return to class the next week with stories of the Iranian hostage crisis.

He warned us someday Iran would try to blocade the Strait.

Wish I would have been there! I had history chosen as my major and college choices down to 4, with Gettysburg being one of them. Would have been there ‘88-’92. We might have met! Instead, at 18, even as a girl, Division 1 Football and Basketball made my final decision on college choice. Live and learn.
