"Around the country, the Republican Party is mounting legal challenges to keep third-party candidates off the ballot in November.
Writer Karl Dickey reports in the Examiner that in recent weeks, with the full support and legal assistance of the Republican Party, [Gary] Johnson's ballot status has been challenged in Michigan, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Iowa and now Ohio." Gary Johnson (pictured) is the former governor of New Mexico and the Libertarian Partys candidate for president of the United States. As of this writing, Johnson is on the ballot in 43 states."

Oh brother. I thought anybody could beat Obama. We were told during the primary that we could put up anybody and guarantee a win. So we ended up with the worst nominee in history of the Republican party and now they are running scared and suing the third party folks. Good Lord this party sucks. We seriously need a Tea Party nominee next round.
Johnson is a POS. He ran in the GOP primary. Got wiped out fair and square. And now he’s trying to undermine the party that rejected him. He’s a poor loser.
LOL
If you don’t meet the criteria you shouldn’t be on the ballot. There will NOT be a run by Palin so quit drooling and get to work
The GOP is the party of cowardice.
No doubt about it. Your post is the post of the week for sure.

At this point, most of the real libertarians will be voting for Romney, and the most of the ones voting for the LP will be the potheads that would otherwise either not vote or vote for Obama.
They do everything they can to keep third parties off the ballot, often times succeed, then turn around and squawk about how third parties can't get a foothold with the electorate.
Well, no wonder....
Not saying I love the whole GOP leadership. But, by way of analogy, much as it infuriates me to read how Patton was mistreated and exiled by Eisenhower et al, both before and after D-Dayespecially when he was right about the Soviet Unionthat doesn't mean I would have wanted to divide American forces so the Germans would win.
My analogy falls down in one respect: Obama is much more dangerous to American freedom than was Hitler.
The sad part about this is there are people here on FR who would rather lose so that they could wag a finger and tell everyone how right they were, like in 2008. Remember how the emaculation of 0bama was going to give us the next Reagan?
Good. One more thing to help defeat 0bama.
Now can we do something about ACORN?
Nah, it's known as the stupid party for a reason.

I read rumors about Palin and a third party, so thought I would throw this out there because this just seems wrong to me.

The LAST THING that Sarah Palin would espouse would be a third party Presidential campaign. She loves her country too much for that, is too pragmatic and actually wants to move toward a conservative takeover of the bulk of the Republican party. And, with assistance of folks such as Palin, considerable progress is being made toward moving the makeup of our Republican elected candidates from RINOs toward true conservatives.
My guess is that the main thing this thread will serve will be as a magnet for those FReepers who are either foolish & shortsighted “I’ll only support 100% PURE conservatives” types or, in some cases liberal/progressive sleepers/saboteurs who are doing whatever they can to increase Obama’s chances of retaining office. This is IMHO.
Are they so arrogant that they think limiting choices will force people to vote for them?
I guarantee that 99% of the people who are voting for Johnson will either sit the race out or vote for Obama if Johnson is removed as a choice. To make matters worse, many of those people would have tended republican in downticket races.
Really? Somebody has posted expressing the desire that 0bama win?
No what is wrong is Soros and other uber wealthy Democrat fascists running around paying 3rd party fringe stooges to run as “Conservative” candidates in the hopes of splitting the votes.
FReepers will figure it out pretty quickly after the election. I believe Romney will win and turn on conservatives almost immediately and all his apologists will react with surprise.
