Do not buy into the narrative:

“Well, President Obama inherited the largest set of problems of any president in history, perhaps except FDR and maybe Abraham Lincoln…” (Wasserman-Schultz)

“…Obama reiterated that he had inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression…” (Robert Reich)

The excuse of inheriting a bad situation is simply another false narrative being foisted upon the public by those who ought to know better (and undoubtedly do).

Barack Obama sought the job of the Presidency with his eyes wide open. It doesn’t matter what he inherited. He knew he was going to inherit it. He wanted it. He applied for the job, actively interviewing across all 57 states. He had the best advisors the Chicago political machine money could buy.

In short he spent $750 million dollars — yes, 3/4 of a billion dollars — and nearly two years convincing the American people that he wanted the job, that he understood the problems we were facing, and that he knew how to fix them.

He knew the situation was bad when, in his arrogance he said, “[I]f I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.” The next year he was singing the same hubristic tune, warbling his preference to be ”[A] really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.” Of course, he will be neither...

None of those three "inherited" their largest problems - they all threw gas onto grass fires, then whined when they got burned.

Even if that were true, he does not say anything about the fact that his party did every thing they possible could to create the problem that Obama faced.

During Bushes second term the republicans would have been tried and convicted of treason had they done some of the things the anti american democrat socialist party did.

Not that i completely agree with the republicans but the democrats has such a low down way of deliberately screwing things up.

Reagan took over after the horror show that was Carter and, after his first 3+ years, had started to effectively turn things around.

Every incoming president has to deal with what their predecessor left behind.....it's WHAT they do that matters, not what they have to overcome.

“…Obama reiterated that he had inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression…”

Utter bunk.

It was far worse during the dying days of the Carter administration ... Prime Rate over 20%, home mortgage interest rates at 18%, inflation and unemployment both over 10%, price of gasoline, adjusted for inflation probably higher than today, and on it goes.

He knew the situation was bad when, in his arrogance he said, “[I]f I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.” The next year he was singing the same hubristic tune, warbling his preference to be ”[A] really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.” Of course, he will be neither.

So when I heard Paul Ryan earlier this month say, “No one disputes President Obama inherited a difficult situation…” I cringed.

Of course no one disputes it. It doesn’t come into play one way other the other, except as the Left would have you believe.

Obama is not just moving the goal posts, he’s trying to re-define the entire playing field to suit himself. Don’t allow it, don’t play into it. America can’t afford it.

Cut him no slack.

Attack. Stop this pussy footing around. Stoy whining when some commentator says something unflattering or demeaning. Stop whining when some political hack says something untrue.

Frankly, answering these comments is exactly what the enemy wants, they want to mire us down in some defensive mode waiving our fingers like someone would scold a two year old.

Attack: the economic disaster, the huge debt, the poor schools, the death czars, the welfare state, everything that SOB stands for. Flank his forrays dealing with minutia. By pass the diversions. Go for the jugular issues.

FDR was a complete a%$ hole.

I read that when Truman stepped up to the plate, he knew absolutely NOTHING about the A bomb project and was handed information about it at about the same time he had to make a decision as to whether or not to use it.

THAT is typical Liberal politics... withhold national security facts from your VP, EVEN in war time.

I have NO respect for FDR and consider him one of the worst Presidents in our history.

At the same time, I think of Truman as one of the very best Presidents we ever had. Walking into the Presidency without a single ally in DC along with a complete lack of information on account of FDR's selfishness, he was STILL decisive and effective when it mattered. “O” by no means could equal THAT kind of a guy. Instead “O” perpetually whines about ‘inheriting’ a bad situation. BS!!

Actually,I believe that after FDR, Ronald Reagan inherited the largest mess in history from the last incompetent Democrat elected president.

Romney and Ryan, though, will have THE LARGEST mess in American History to clean.

In the process they must rewrite how We the People tax and regulate one another...in order to be sucessful. It could be historical.

If they cannot...it will simply be... too bad.....

Another way of answering is to say: “Lincoln? Roosevelt? Based on his record, If Obama was in their place, we would be living in the Confederate States of America and speaking Japanese!”
