Turn Out The Lights: The Grand Old Party Is Over

That’s it. You can shut down the convention right now. It’s over. Romney’s camp just shut down all dissent, and they rigged it that way. Twitter is awash in angry tweets from people who know this was a sham. John Boehner actually wielded the gavel without a hint of a tear as he said “the ayes have it.” They didn’t have it, and I think it was pretty clear that even if they did, this was a set-up. I have news for the GOP establishment. I am voting in November. I will vote for all the down-ballot candidates who are worthy of my support. I am not going to vote for Mitt Romney. Don’t look at the page as though you’ve read the words of a man pledging treason. It was not I who rigged the primaries. It was not I who rigged the convention. It was not I who rigged the rules committee. All of those things are actual treasons against the conservatives in the America, and all of those things were carried out by Mitt Romney and his legion. I am a small matter to it, but I will have my say. If the Republican party wishes to commit suicide by Romney, they may do so, but they will do so without my help in the matter. John Boehner may have enjoyed his moment in despotic pleasure, and Reince Priebus may have been doing his masters’ bidding, but Mitt Romney had it within his power to put a stop to all of this, but when tested by circumstance, Mitt Romney’s fatal character flaws prevailed.

The Republican Party is dead. It’s time we get on with this convention and consider it a funeral. You’re witnessing a party that will now fall, and I’m going to help it on its way. Some of you diehard Republicans who read this blog may wish to find other haunts. It’s not going to be pretty. When I saw John Sununu begin to surface with regularity on Fox News over the last few weeks, I suspected the fix was in. His conduct of the RNC Rules Committee on Tuesday demonstrates that fact.

I am a person who refuses to separate his convictions from his actions and choices. Mitt Romney could have done many things to gain my support, and the support of many others, but rather than do so, he seized control. He used all his pals and buddies to take over and make the voices of grass-roots Republicans and Tea Party conservatives silent. Some will urge that we remain focused on November, and I agree, but my focus is irrevocably changed. I am out to defeat the GOP establishment in any and every form that may take.

Note to conservatives: I will understand if you swallow your pride and your principles and vote for Mitt Romney, but do not come to this site to chastise me or others who refuse to join you. Your argument had consisted of convincing us that the Romnoids wouldn’t behave this way, and at precisely that moment when they needed to prove it, they behaved precisely as we dissenters knew that they would. Save it.

Romney had his chance. Today, he blew it.

Every now and again, bro, you back off of your... interesting.... posts, and post something brilliant. Your post is good.

Expect resistance by the Ruling Elite Republicans, though.

If you follow the posting history of some of these “principled, anti-Romney, true-conservative” poseurs, you’ll see that they are devoutly anti-Mormon.

A ha! The anti-Mormon card is now played. Vote for Mitt, or else you hate Mormons.

Yeah, that's the ticket!

Why are folks fighting yesterday’s fights?

Good grief, it is this in-fighting that could very well hand Obama another 4 years. While not crazy for Romney, he is the frontrunner now and we must get going to get Obama OUT of the White House.

When that is done, we can put Romney’s feet to the fire.

Did the GOP just go a bridge too far? For me, yes. I’m going to re-register as an independent. So what if I can’t vote in the primaries? This party has been infiltrated by the Left and is as dangerous to our freedom as the real Left. I will have nothing to do with it. I’ll vote for Romney because I hate Obama more and he will kill the country at warp speed, unlike Romney and Rove and their ilk, who will do it with a thousand cuts. But at least it gives us more time to fight them. Top-down authoritarian tactics use to belong to the Left. Not anymore. It may have been the “Grand Old Party” at one time, but not now. Reagan must be rolling over in his grave at the disgrace this party has become. Then again, Reagan had to fight them too - and he won. I will write the RNC - not that they’ll care - and tell them why I can no longer be a part of their phony party.

I know this may sound crazy - but in my sense and the business people i deal w daily - a Romney victory, even if he does nothing and sits as a potted plant in the oval office would be the best stimulus package for the economy vs ObaMAO for 4 more years of hell to destry this nation.

Why are folks fighting yesterday’s fights?

1) We conservatives didn't pick this fight. This is Mitt Romney, himself, telling conservatives and Tea Party people he can win without us. Well, best of luck t'ya.

2) Yesterday's fight effects us today....and many thousands of tomorrows.

This is not 'old news' and we will not 'move on'.

I think you are right. It would boost the economy.

Until, in horror, business discovers that Romney trends left of W.Bush.

Get over it.

Win it in 50 days. Win it, then fight again.

NOT UNTIL THEN.

Fight now and win.

Got to see Gov. Walker’s speech last night. He was wonderful, presented how WI did what needed to be done, and showed that it can be done nationwide.

The GOP-E made sure yesterday that feet-fire won't be happening after the election and in 2016.

Timber Rattler, here’s the problem for you. If you really do live in Pennsylvania, your vote for a third party or Mickey Mouse won’t matter. the dead democrats will find a way to vote in Philly and will make sure Obama carries this state. That should delight you, correct? You’re spending a lot of time telling people how bad Romney is, while even if you did vote for him, your state’s electoral votes are going to the other guy. So, why are you upset at all?

So, this is what I really don’t get about the anti Romney posters. PA has a closed primary, as I’m sure you know. Did you vote for Tom Smith? Who did you support during the primaries, down ticket? Isn’t that what the anti Romneys claim to be concerned about? You’re actually a registered republican? You would have to be in order to participate in the primary election process.

In any event, you just continue to moan and whine. We have their backs.

But it can be in other ways. He has Rep. Paul Ryan as VP running mate, plus also with more conservatives being elected to the house and with taking back the Senate with the White House.

Again, PRIORITY has to be GET OBAMA OUT of the WHITE HOUSE.

Having come back to health after a major life-threatening illness, I have little patience with those who are fighting yesterday’s fights.

we can put Romney’s feet to the fire

Uh...no we can't. What they did yesterday was essentially make sure the republicans all line up like nice little toadies to whatever the Romeny agenda is. This makes/made them more like the democrats than you will ever believe. Not only was the conservative voice silenced in the primaries, it silenced representation. The only 'feet to the fire' are ours.

ron paul is about as far from being a conservative as you can get. He’s a libertarian in republican clothing; an outlier who gives not a poop about you or beating obama. He’s a spoiler who would rather see obama as president than a real conservative, pure simple. This is a guy who supported occupy. This is a guy who thinks iran DESERVES nukes.
Everyone has experienced the loudmouthed and underhanded tricks of paul’s supporters. Just because they yell loudly and bogart their way into places where we have to put up with them doesn’t make them grassroots since the majority are stormfronters and pot smokers who want dope legalized and our military criminalized.
GET OVER IT!

We worked hard to get Scott Walker elected the first time, but I have got to tell you, the second time (the nasty expensive RE-Call) the left was so ugly, so nasty, brought in millions of national Teacher Union thug money, that it roused thousands of volunteers to make phone calls, knock on doors and get out the vote. The nastiness, the importance of that 2nd vote for Walker, just made us dig in our heels and get er done. We were incensed from months of paid protesters occupying our beautiful capital building, filthy protesters at every speech Walker made, mortified during a speech for special Olympics disabled children that the protesters stood right with the children and tried to get them to boo the Governor...... and I could go on and on. THIS like I say incenses us not made us give up. That's what this country has come to and I pray the results in November will prove my theory.

Keep the faith and let's do this!
