Part of me wants to chuckle over it.
Then it starts to sink in. Who was in charge of guiding these two young men morally and spiritually? Does that even occur in the Palace? In London or Europe at all anymore? Not all 27 year olds act like this. Some are actually quite straight. When I compare him to MOST military officers we’ve known who have the responsbility for million dollar aircraft ... he does NOT compare.
I think it’s starting to “sink in” everywhere now. Trying not to, but I can’t help but place at least some blame on Charles.
What about Diana? Admittedly, Harry was young when she died, but still. I'm not a Charles fan, but I've read he's a good father.
I don't subscribe to the Diana-as-saint mythology. Yes, she was cheated on. But she was a drama queen who knew just how to manipulate the press into writing stories which made her seem blameless. She forced her young sons into the roles of comforters when her marriage broke up, burdening them with her emotional problems. William once said that his father had never embarrassed him, whereas his mother had done so many times...i.e., her tell-all interview about her affairs, making William the butt of jokes at school.
“When I compare him to MOST military officers weve known who have the responsbility for million dollar aircraft ... he does NOT compare.”
Really? I flew F-16s, and (probably because I was married only) did not do this.
My unwed felow pilots? Pretty much wore their flight suits everywhere and slept with everything.
I mean, that’s pretty much a key perk of being a pilot.
I don’t think William should be lumped with his brother. He apparently has a good marriage and spends his time saving lives in his military role.
