A party in your town for the President's speech (BHO Campaign email)
Obama Campaing email

A couple of short weeks from now, President Obama will take the stage at the convention in Charlotte to accept the party's nomination.

His speech will be a big moment, and one that will kick off the last leg of this election. That's why in every state, folks will be getting together at house parties with their neighbors and friends to watch and celebrate.

There are hundreds of hosts across the country planning their parties and helping to make this convention one to remember. But last time I checked, no one in your neighborhood is planning an event yet. You should plan a party in your hometown and be a part of this.

Can you host a convention watch party in your neighborhood on September 6th?

You could keep it small, or make it big. Maybe you just want to have a few friends over, or maybe you want to invite some folks who are just getting involved in this election to come by and get to hear the President's words with some fellow supporters.

We're here to help you make it a success -- with a training and a set of materials like a sample agenda, a sign-in sheet, and a flyer to help you get the word out. And we'll also get you access to a livestream of the President's speech so you're all set to watch with your guests.

Hosting a watch party is a great way to be a part of the convention, from wherever you are. But it's even bigger than that.

Conventions used to be something that happened among a few political insiders. The President decided in 2008 to open the doors to tens of thousands of grassroots supporters for his acceptance speech in Denver -- because he knew that these supporters were the ones building the campaign and getting us to victory.

This year, he'll give that address in the Panthers' stadium, once again surrounded by tens of thousands of grassroots supporters. And if you host a watch party, you'll be bringing even more supporters together to be a part of it.

It's the kind of person-to-person organizing that this movement has always been built on. And with hundreds of these parties planned already and many more on the way, this will be a pretty amazing way to be a part of the big night.

Let me know if you can host a convention watch party in your hometown:

Can't wait,

Why dies it require training, a agenda ans sign-in sheets to turn the TV on to any of the cable or alphabet news networks?

LoL! I should apply, I think my little town in rural West Virginia voted against him by a 75/25 margin (and that was in 2008 when he was actually popular). He might get run out of town on a rail if he tried now...

Whoops! I should have actually read the entire story, I thought he was coming to my town if I won his contest, but he only wants to send campaign junk, what a rip!

There is no way that can be duplicated again.

The tingle is gone.

The speeches of Obama should be condensed into a book entitled “ THE OBAMA MANIFESTO. “

A suggested subtitle might be “Git yer marchin’ shoes on!”

Helpful suggestion: Print in paperback editions only, so it can easily fit into the hip pockets of the OWS and illegal aliens from Mexico.

last time I checked no one in your neighborhood was hosting one

That has a true creep factor to it.
