Don’t know exactly how it will end, but we certainly have a front-row seat to its decay right now... economic, moral, and cultural decay. I’m just grateful my grandparents, aunts and uncles are all dead now, so they never had to witness the cultural depths the country they loved and died for has plunged to.

It’s terrifying, to say the least.

There's one factor that never came into play in South Africa but adds a whole different dynamic to the future of the U.S., and that's immigration (legal and otherwise). If South Africa had been flooded with Spanish-speaking immigrants even as apartheid came to an end, I suspect the country would be much different today.
This country passed a milestone back around 2004 (I think) and it's never going back. That was when Hispanics surpassed blacks as the largest minority group in the U.S. For those of you who may remember this, that was the event that precipitated Bill Cosby's infamous tirade at the NAACP convention that got him into so much trouble among "his people." He was commenting on the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, and all he saw around him 50 years later was hordes of illiterate, dysfunctional black youths with their pants drooping down around their ankles and hats on their heads pointing in every direction except the correct one.

Amen to that! My parents grew up in the Depression, lived through WWII, the Cold War and were around for the breakup of the Soviet Union. Thank the Lord they passed without seeing what has happened to the Nation they so loved!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)
