I dont think theres anything much worse than Toddlers and Tiaras. It's a show from the deepest pits of Hell, any parent that does that to their kid should be arrested for Child Abuse.

Hit the nail squarely on the head. Played sports growing up. I witnessed two incident involving a moronic parent (dads coaching baseball. Kids were on the team. Ugly scene).
I have read about overbearing parents who live through their children, and situations which involve moronic behavior, but the worse offender in the systematic exploitation of children is the public education systems.

When this first became a big deal, I never can wrap my head around it. It just seems so wrong.

I’ve only seen a few trailers for the show. I’ve never watched it, and recently returned my cable box because of the lack of things worth watching, but that was a pretty funny parody.

It boggles the mind for me. Here the local AM station news always seems to have some space for some HS sports action.
Aren’t there enough dedicated sports radio channels out there? There is at least one here that is a sister station I think to the AM news one.

That was funny despite Tom (tolerable) and Opie Cunningham (who I really can’t stand).

In a day and age where everyone rings their hands over childhood obesity, kids not playing outside, sitting in front of tv/computer/video screens, etc.... What's so amazing is the lack of opportunity for kids to play sports "for fun" or "just to try it out". If you don't have your child in a sports program from the age of 4 or 5, if they haven't "proven" themselves on the field as an elementary schooler -- you can pretty much forget about high school or even middle school sports. It is not about fun, exercise, or (ha ha) "sportsmanship", it's about crazy parents living vicariously through only the "best" players.
