After bloggers broke the Fast and Furious gunwalker story, and drove it home day after day after day, Congressman Darrell Issa's Oversight Committee announced they have placed blame and will release several reports in coming days - but "journalists" were given a copy yesterday.
Sipsey Street Irregulars says the report was "embargoed until midnight," and all "authorized journalists" got copies - but bloggers who have been involved, even in the halls of Congress.
I can't even count the times I've heard Greta Van Susteren report on Fast and Furious and it was obvious much of her information came from bloggers. There would be no story without bloggers. In case you are not aware, Fox News Liberal analyst Juan Williams once referred to successful author, commentator and blogger Michelle Malkin as "just a blogger." Now the term has it's own hashtag on Twitter #justablogger. (Disclaimer: I cannot vouch for the BuzzFeed graphic but it looks right to me)
A second story is Issa and crew are naming five ATFers and point a limp wrist at Eric Holder and the Department of Justice. Underwhelming. Nothing we haven't known for months. In the meantime, still yet today, no one has been fired, but at least one American, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, died on the border, armed with a gun shooting bean bags.

Wasn’t there a court case that sort of defined “journalist”, and the definition did not include “bloggers”?
Bloggers = graffiti vandals hiding behind a computer.

Great comment. Thanks.
Probably on either coast, but that has nothing to do with Darrell Issa and who he and his committee gave the report to. Issa knows who was doing the heavy lifting, and he knew most of the press, with the exception of CBS and Sheryl Atkisson, ignored the story. It started with bloggers. He could give the report to whom he wanted. It’s possible one of the Democrat Committee members made the release. Whatever happened, it was unfortunate and inappropriate in my opinion.
David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh...just bloggers.
Thank you.
Good graphic.
“Issa knows who was doing the heavy lifting, and he knew most of the press, with the exception of CBS and Sheryl Atkisson, ignored the story. It started with bloggers...”
“David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh...just bloggers.”
Disappointed with Issa on this matter because there was a time when he singled out and honored the breakout and breakthrough “simple” bloggers (Codrea/Vanderboegh) to get his message out. To this day, the civilian media is the only media who advances the story-—ANY meaningful story, for that matter.
The best of our conservative leaders/legislators still are tone-deaf. We citizen-grunts must not be shouting loud enough.
So you’re saying that Mike Vanderbeogh and David Codrea are graffiti vandals??? I would invite you to go read their work, but I suspect that the many years you’ve been sniffing paint fumes has taken your brain below its working threshold of two cells.
Pity, that.
