Obama just wants to “ask” people to pay more in taxes. Really?

“…[W]hat we then do is ask for the wealthy to pay a little bit more…”

So said President Barack Obama.

Nothing wrong with that. We agree wholeheartedly. Ask the wealthy if they will pay a little bit more, or even a lot more. Please do. Ask.

But government doesn’t ask. It demands. It coerces. It enforces at gunpoint.

Taxes, you see, aren’t voluntary...

When Bill Clinton was running around talking about “asking” “the rich” to pay more in 1992, I knew he was a shyster. Not that I’d ever vote for a baby-killer, anyway.

Let’s compromise. Why can’t we make it possible for all the libs who believe people should pay more in taxes to dig into their own pockets and add any extra funds they believe should be paid to their own tax return as a donation.

There should be another line on the federal income tax return saying add the extra amount in taxes you think should be paid here. That amount would be added to their return and they pay it. We would put 0 on the line and would not have to pay anything extra.

A perfect compromise. They could pay all the extra tax they want and we would not have to pay any.
