Some of the documents detailing the lineage were obtained from the same British National Archive located at Kew, UK as are claimed to contain the vital index for the male baby born in Kenya to Barack Obama (Sr.) in 1961.

“Using colonial Virginia records and a DNA analysis, the researchers conclude that Obama definitely has African ties on his maternal side and that Punch is the logical candidate.”

“From Obamas Mother Back to John Bunch II
“Stanley Ann Dunhams maternal grandmother, Leona McCurry, was born 7 May 1897, in Peru, Chautauqua County, Kansas.5 Leona was the daughter of Margaret Bell Wright (18691935),6 whose mother, Frances Allred (18341918),7 was the daughter of Anna Bunch. Anna Bunch was born in Overton County, Tennessee, on 27 March 1814 and died 21 June 1893.8 Her father, Nathaniel Bunch, was born in Louisa County, Virginia, on 23 April 1793 and died in Newton County, Arkansas, on 16 February 1859.9 His father, Charles Bunch, married Mary Bellamy in Louisa County, Virginia, on 9 January 1792.
“Charless father, Samuel Bunch, was born circa 1720 in Hanover County, Virginia, and died leaving a will that was proved in Louisa County, Virginia, on 9 June 1783.11 Although Samuel Bunch and his family likely appeared to be white by this time, yDNA evidence proves that Samuel Bunch, his descendants, and his ancestors have sub-Saharan (African) origins.”
Never ever take anything on Ancestry.com at face value. I do genealogy and rarely go over there unless I’m at a total stand still. And then it’s just for an idea of where to maybe possibly might could be a new starting point. This latest with “first” slave and all gives me that much more reason not to trust what Billy Jo Makebelieve or whomever decided to post. Isn’t is amazing how The Won is always “first” in everything.
I watched a lady from Ancestry.com on Nightline tonight and she never once said they used DNA to trace it back. She told the sequence as to what records are used and she commented as you go further back about the only thing you can find to use is property records.
