Romney… Stand Up, Or Stand Down!
skipmaclure.us ^ | July 7 2012 | Skip MacLure

I’m seriously conflicted. I’m beginning to have flashbacks to the presidential race of 2008. There are some disturbing parallels between the candidacy of the hapless John “you can’t do it my friend” McCain and the present candidate, the anointed of the Washington Republican Establishment. It’s akin to the feeling I got when I realized that George Bush was anything but the conservative he positioned himself to be.

Americans have been watching with an almost preternatural intensity as this all too real drama plays out on our national stage. Mitt Romney ran for the nomination of the Republican Party like a junkyard dog… destroying candidate after candidate and devil-take-the-hindmost. It was readily apparent that he didn’t much care where the bottom of the swamp was either. Though many of us disliked his tactics… and they were short, brutal and to the point, we salved ourselves with the thought… “just wait for the campaign this summer and fall, Romney will chew up Obama and spit him out, we’ve got a tiger in our tank”.

Readers will remember that I was never that high on Romney. I saw the potential millstone that ‘Romneycare’ presented to the Republican effort to oust the Marxist Obama, as unfair as it may be. ‘Romneycare’ as it has been dubbed is, and was, nothing compared to the utter devastation that will be Obama’s legacy to this country should the healthcare law not be overturned.

Mitt Romney’s attempt to bring sanity to Massachusetts health care costs, through a state mandated health care system, was admirable in its aims. Romney should have known it would have been vulnerable to a Democratic state legislature which couldn’t wait to turn the law into a tax-and-spend opportunity, which was then followed by the election of a liberal Democrat governor after Romney’s departure who turned the law into something totally different than its original intent. What Romney did was to remediate some of the state’s onerous health care regulations. What Barack Hussein Obama has done is to enslave an entire nation to the false gods of liberal governance.

Romney has got to start listening to some different advice. From what I’ve observed, he should dump his advisers now. Whoever advised Romney to allow photo ops from ‘The Boathouse’ and ‘The Monster’ speed boat while the Anointed One is out campaigning, schmoozing senior citizens and sucking down brewskis with constituents, should be in some other line of work… period.

Romney has lost his nerve… or someone high up in his campaign has. Running from the fight is serving none of us well. No incumbent president since Jimma’ Boy Cata has been as vulnerable as Barack Obama. What’s infuriating me and many other patriots, at least according to the comments we get, and we get a bunch… Romney wants us to trust him to bring this country out of the darkness that is this ‘depression’. He wants us to fight for him. When is he going to fight for us?

Psalm 26

1Vindicate me, O Lord,
For I have walked in my integrity.
I have also trusted in the Lord;
I shall not slip.
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
Try my mind and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth.
4 I have not sat with idolatrous mortals,
Nor will I go in with hypocrites.
5 I have hated the assembly of evildoers,
And will not sit with the wicked.

6 I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O Lord,
7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
8 Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place where Your glory dwells.

9 Do not gather my soul with sinners,
Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
10 In whose hands is a sinister scheme,
And whose right hand is full of bribes.

11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
12 My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the Lord.

No, and if OBAMA wins in a landslide, you would be just stupid enough to dance in the streets, I bet.

By this time next year, you'd be slinking off red-faced as FReepers anquished over the complete overpowering of conservative Republicans in Congress, and the steady advance -- under the hand of Obama with moderate Republicans and Democrats -- all the crap and worse of what you feared in Romney. Just like we warned you. Don't you even know where the hell Obama stands on that UN crap with regard to environmentalism? Come on! Buy a clue!

You are as dim and skittish as a domestic chicken.

Interchangable, and that IS a problem.

I won’t have it on my conscience that I am allowing Obamanation to rule 4 more years..I am therefore voting for Romney.

And make your conscience pay for it later, like when you see the full homosexual agenda being supported from the White House, and watch as adoption agencies are forced to accommodate same-sex couple "parents."

You can have that on your conscience later. Because you will have voted for it, and the conservatives you worked to elect to Congress, when they opposed it, would be treated like willful children by the Republican establishment and its leader in the White House. The one you voted for.

I know that I must do the right thing and just trust God.

Yep. And for me, that it's heeding God's values as well as limited government conservative ones, is the strongest indicator that a gamble to vote third party at the top of the ticket to weaken the victory of the winner, is the best risk. Because it's not really a gamble -- it's a franchise.

By the way, I’m 100% certain that with a conservative majority in the house and senate we can and will impeach and remove and expel the treasonous usurping criminal conspiracy aka Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi & Co., including a whole passel of corrupt/usurping congress critters, government officials and judges/justices. Vote straight conservative up and down the ticket!

ABO is too faint of heart to think that they could fight the boogieman.

I have no illusions about Romney..Obama is worse IMO.

I am firmly and passionately against 4 more years of Obamanation and his administration.

I have plenty of good tea party conservatives to vote for downticket..

FR has at least 100 posters whose only job is to demoralize..... -ScreamingFist at post 7

Rather methods and techniques of using useful idiots and strategy to push a particular line. - going hot at post 117

The subject of the video was a professional, a trained KGB agent working on behalf of what was then a world superpower. He was paid to engage in subversive activities in India and elsewhere. He tells a fascinating story.

Is ScreamingFist seriously suggesting that there are "at least 100 posters" who have been employed by some person or some foreign power to subvert this country by posting comments hostile to Mitt Romney at Free Republic? Is it felt that Mitt Romney is so compelling a candidate that no honest conservative could possibly find reason to reject him?

Well, I acknowledge that both of you have more experience than me here, but this professional subversion theory seems a bit outlandish to me. Moreover, I think think such a theory is wholly unnecessary to explain why conservatives are so hostile to Romney's candidacy. If Mitt Romney has any kind of philosophy at all, it is a liberal philosophy. For reasons that have been detailed over and over and over again at this forum, Mitt Romney is viewed by many here as dangerous to conservatism and dangerous to this country's future, potentially much more dangerous than Obama.

Every man has a right to his own delusions, but he shouldn't be too critical of others who don't share them. I want to be sensitive to your feelings because I know I would feel cheated and I would feel resentful and I would be very angry if I came to believe that I was one of just a few people on this forum who wasn't being paid to be here.

I don't want either of you to feel that way. It just sounds too painful for words.

Me to an ABO surrender vote: "You are as dim and skittish as a domestic chicken."
GHot: Interchangable, and that IS a problem.

Are you saying you think that it's skittish and dim to resist?

Now, that is a problem.

Mittens is viewed as a wet blanket by me....he will drive the conservative movement ABSOLUTELY no where...

But will he purposely try to destroy this country under the direction of Soros and through his own upbringing of communism, or his socialist dealing with community organizing and ACORN?

Nah...Romney gets my vote, although I will throw up a little in my mouth with I place that vote. I see no danger...only no moving forward unless we have both the House and Senate, and even then if we continue to get Tea Party conservatives in place in those positions.

Stay home and not vote, or write in Santorum...or freakin' Mickey Mouse if you so damn chose...still a vote for Choombama and the IMMEDIATE death of our country!

I firmly believe that all of these "I won't vote Romney" FReepers will still stealth vote for him in November...

I have no illusions about Romney..Obama is worse IMO.

And I gotta respect that opinion. I think the illusions may lie with the fear of Obama. IMO, he's more scarecrow than we think, and a Republican Congress invigorated with conservatives would have the courage to find out and do some trampling.

A Repubican Congress under Romney would mean conservatives would be marginalized because Romney, moderates, and Democrats would coalesce as a majority.

I have no illusions about that.

I wish one of these guys would post a list of Romney’s greatest conservative accomplishments. I mean, most conservatives value a man’s record much more than his campaign promises (most often, lies). The record is the proof (truth) of the man.

Finny,

Find another hobby...responding to multiple threads with your "I am right" attitude is not a discussion...it's the same thing we are fighting in the purple lipped prince.

Why not just post your "Humble" opinions and let others discuss theirs?

I missed the vote where you get to be the authoritarian on FR.

” - - - This is the one time the candidate should stay out of the way and let this LOSER Obama do what he does best, LOSE! “

And if Romney loses, then we can all look back and say that once Romney won the Primary Campaign, Romney coasted on to a landslide defeat.

Romney’s goal was to defeat the Conservatives, he did that, and now out of professional courtesy, it is just the polite game of one Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavud Man against another, North East Style.

Not this one, FRiend.

Stop insulting folks here with the mathematically fallacious "not voting for Romney is a vote for Obama." Materially and mathematically, there's only one way to vote for Obama, and that's to mark his name on your ballot. Anger and frustration to the contrary.

There's also only one way to vote for authoritarian statism, and you are on the verge of doing it.
