The philosophy of Altruism is at the root of it all; sacrifice our wealth and young blood for the good of unfortunate “humanity” overseas. I don’t remember many on this forum protesting the run up to the Iraq war. In fact I remember that a majority felt like we should get involved because the Iraqis were being oppressed.
What I really believed at that time and still believe is that the support for war was more about supporting GWB than the Iraqi peoples freedom.
I didn’t support the decision to go to war because I’m against any unnecessary foreign entanglements. No matter what political party is in power.
Sadly you can’t have it both ways.
