I am not voting for Romney, though I understand those who are.
That said, NOW is the time to change his phrasing from "I will work to repeal and replace Obamacare from Day One" (which means nothing) to actions more specific than merely agreeing to sign off on a passed bill that repeals Obamacare.
Example of rhetoric, "You want executive orders, Mr. President? You've got'em.
#1. The Sebellius rule manadating abortion and birth control coverage is Gone-zo.
#2. Anyone who wants a waiver has got one. (credit to rottndog)
#3. The centralized database is suspended, so we can prioritize those records that are commiting crimes and dealing drugs.
#4. The IRS will have to get its job done with 60% of the present workforce. Implementing Obamacare is not on their priority list.
etc.

“Your lame uttering is meaningless. You’re an enemy of freedom, go away.”
You are a fool grasping for things you have already lost and never had the power to keep in the first place.
My election advice is to stock up on food and ammunition for when the welfare zombies come for you.

“You should be ashamed of yourself.”
Such was the last gasp of the conservative movement. Fact is, we lost when we nominated Romney.

I voted for Ron Paul - get over it.
Anyone staying home at this point is voting for and endorsing Obamacare since Romney is our only possible chance to do something on this, even if the chance is albeight small.
Grow up and wake up already.

I did grow up and wake up already. That’s why I’m not going to bother voting for Obama or Obomney.

FlightD, You're calling a lot of good people, including the owner and founder of Free Republic, an enemy of the U.S.
And you are willing to risk a landslide mandate for a guy who has governed 100 percent liberal (for crying out loud, LOOK AT ROMNEY'S RECORD!!!) while Republican. You are endorsing having the Republican party turn hard left because after all, a huge landslide of voters said that's what they wanted! Understand that if Romney gets in, Obama would soon be forgotten and those who voted "against" Obama would suddenly find that what they really voted for, was Romney and all the leftist crap he has staunchly promoted and advanced in his political career.
There is no voting "against." There is only voting FOR. I will be voting third party to vote FOR a plurality so at least it will be on record that the next liberal government-authoritarian statist president, be it Romney or Obama, was opposed by the majority of voters.
You can pretend you're voting "against" Obama all you want, but you're on the verge of voting FOR making the Republican party as liberal as the Democrat party.
There are no enemies of the U.S. on this forum -- and only panicked, frightened, folks who are being manipulated by fear would say there were.

"LOOK AT ROMNEY'S RECORD!!!"
Romney has no record as POTUS. Obama does. One of them will be POTUS next year. Now use your brain and choose a candidate.

>”Some of us view voting for Romney as pointless as voting for Obama”<
Well, therein lies the problem.
Obama = Romney? I cannot get my head around that logic. If Romney was the successful Republican Nominee and was elected in 2008, would we be having a day like today?
I think the Forum is about 50/50 either way. It seems these continuous threads accomplish absolutely nothing, except pissing off the people on the other side of the issue.
To everyone here, do what you think is right in November and the consequences will speak for themselves.

Wow -- you're saying that Romney's record in Massachusetts doesn't count? Just wow.
I am using my brain. I'm choosing to vote for a plurality so that it's on record that the majority voted against statism.

You suggest ignoring Romney's thoroughly liberal, amoral statist authoritarian record as governor, on the basis that, well, he wasn't
president then.
Obama: "Hope and Change."
Romney: "Hope he'll Change."
We know how the first one worked out.

There is no voting "against." There is only voting FOR. Simply not true. There's been lots of times we've had to do this. In fact, everytime the primary candidate I've been for loses, I've backed the other person within the party because I might not have 100% agreement with them, but I'll never have EVEN 1% agreement with a democrat. In that case, I'll vote against the democrat.
Voting against democrats for as long as I live, because when I'm dead, then I'll be a democrat voter!
To: cynwoody
A vote for anyone but the Republican nominee is a vote for Obama.
Yeah, yeah, and "Four legs good, two legs bad." This ain't Twitter, you can bring an original thought to the table that doesn't fit on a bumper sticker. Many here think repeition will make it so, or at least make those who dissent from the imposition of Romney flee with tail between legs.

You missed Poshard vs. George Ryan in Illinois, and Silber vs. Weld in MA (both Gov races). Ryan lied about being pro-life, and Republicans wanting to be lied to voted for the pubbie felon over downstate pro-life/pro-gun Dem.
In Massachusetts, the Birchers actually ran a favorable feature on Silber in Review of the News. The pubbies gave us that awful WASP version of Kerry and Romney, William Weld, who worked to undermine conservatism (along with Christine Todd-Whitman) at every stage.
It's rarte, but it does happen. And yes, I voted for Poshard.

Should the man who provides us with this forum also be ashamed of himself? I have seen precious little argument, most are acting like I used my dessert spoon in the soup or something.

This is about kicking the O out of office... I'd vote for Charlie Sheen if he had a chance to beat the Obummer.
So would I. Charlie Sheen would have no interest in turning the national Republican Party into a national version of what Massachusetts and Illinois Republican Parties have become. At some point, I hope after the electon, we can be on the same page again. I have called nobody an idiot or anything like idiot. If you want to persuade folks like me, as opposed to simply hounding me off the board, you can do likewise.
