I'm not a fan of either one, but for starters, Romenycare differs from ObamaCare in that it is not unconstitutional, for the very reason ObamaCare is unconstitutional -- "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Romneycare was a bad idea, but not unconstitutional at the state level. If the idiots of a state want to go that route, that's their business.

You're right. The only major federal programs that I've seen terminated were for military spending (e.g. weapons, wars etc.). I can't think of any "social" program created by the federal government that was terminated. These programs just keep going on forever along with the oppressive taxes needed to keep them funded. To get rid of these programs means that the federal government must be abolished and a new government with the correct Constitutional political/civic ethos installed.

Here is what I’m thinking. I am 60 y/o. I have been working and paying taxes since I was 16. I have played by the rules, never asked the government for anything and got just what I asked for. I have no children to worry about. I have been fighting the conservative fight since college with some successes. But I am tired. My young relatives all think O’Bama walks on water. So from now on I am going to see just how much free stuff I can get from the Feds. If we are going to become Greece then I want my stuff now before it is too late. What is a little $16T deficit when there are freebies to be had. Bring it on. I’m not going to be around to see the country devolve into European style socialism and I’m not going to have to pay for the result thereof. Let the O’Bama loving 30 somethings and their kids pay the bills. They love him they can pay for him. (end of rant)

Freebies for everyone..including illegals. Especially illegals. Freebies for everyone until we run out of everyone else’s money... Then Tax more and continue to spend until everything is unsustainable, and then tax some more. The supremes say that the government can tax all they want or need... so... America died today... what is the worth of living if all money is given away for votes?
I am weighing my options. I am considering joining the dark side and bringing the new Soviet Union down in any way I can.
