A Spotted Owl may do what Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Johnny Ringo, the Clanton gang, the Gunfight at the OK Corral and two major fires couldnt do: destroy Tombstone, known throughout the century as The town too tough to die!
According to several CNN reports, Tombstone may soon run out of water because of a broken 26-mile water pipeline, which runs through a National Forest....

One dogll say to the other like, huh? and hed be gone too.
LOL
Fun!
If Romney’s people have any sense, they’ll set up a campaign stop in Tombstone, with their candidate denouncing this federal government tyranny with the OK Corral as a backdrop. That would score some HUGE points out West.
You nailed it!
Set the national Forest on Fire...
You're exactly right. It is. It's a race of the spotted owl that differs from the Pacific (northern) race only in plumage details.
Which gets me to my pet peeve: Why does the Endangered SPECIES Act now apply to a sub-species (race)? In my opinion, this is beyond the criminal. This is a blatant misuse of this Act, which is a blatant miscarriage of justice in the first place. And no one seems to be pointing this out!
If this continues, and sub-species (races) are to be protected by the ESA, then virtually the entire country will be off limits to any sort of development. It's infuriating.
Thanks for your post. And for letting me rant. I work with young environmentalists every day, and it's driving me BATTY! Their level of ignorance is astounding and their contempt for rural Americans is absolutely flabbergasting. And, yes, they still love the Kenyan. Heaven help us!
The old timers from the real Tombstone would have used 45’s and they wouldn’t be shooting at Owls.
This is a crock.
I was just up your way (Inyo and Mono counties) doing some bird surveys a few days ago. Spent time on some tributaries of the Walker River and in the White Mountains and the Eastern Sierra.
It's God's Country there, FRiend!
Thank you. I do love it here, but the enironmentalists are doing everything they can to close roads and make remote areas off limits to people-Federal land, our land!
I beat ya! I already posted on that thread just a few minutes ago.
Speaking of which, if the sage-grouse gets listed, we can kiss all outdoor activity (camping, hunting, fishing) good-bye. Don't think it's going to happen though. Just a gut feeling.
Anyway, I should have pinged you to that thread too. I'll keep you in mind for future pings.
All the best!
The feds want the property, and are using a bird as an excuse to get it, via the environazis. Land grabs are nothing new in the west, and the feds have now tossed their hat into the ring.
get rid of the owl one night
send in the arizona national guard to protect the workers from the D’ng fascist federales.
