Almost 20 attackers clothed all in black and wielding hammers and clubs strode into the Tinley Park, Illinois Ashford House Restaurant at noon Saturday, violently taking down patrons according to witnesses, some of whom were there to celebrate a local wedding shower. They started hitting people with bats and hammers, (1) Lauryn Drozd, 22, said. They had hoods up. Several observers said the attackers appeared to target a certain group gathered for a meeting inside.
Now, the local cops are being especially tight lipped, and our ersatz national cable news guys also are noticeable by their silence on just who the actors in this horrific suburban drama were. Web rumors seem to point fingers at a group of anti-facists, who are being credited with Saturdays mob-style attack, inside the popular local eatery whose owner got beat up when he chased the thugs outside.
While some of the offenders were able to flee the scene in waiting cars, police nabbed one vehicle and are holding in custody about five accused mystery people. Some restaurant patrons had to be treated at local hospitals.
Now, just what are we not being told? Some news reports and web commenters are compiling a saga of a...

What the devil is this article about? Is “Irish” a code word for something else?
What the devil is this article about? Is “Irish” a code word for something else?
Amish.
Democrats want to prevent people from defending themselves but going into a restaurant and attacking people with hammers and bats is ok with them. Illinois has the strongest gun control laws in the country.
If any of these punks ever came at me with a hammer they would be dead. I might just use their own hammer on their faces just because they brought it.
can’t be the Irish, it’s a restaurant not a Pub
This happened weeks ago.
Why do I feel like “anti-fascist raids” will be the media term for violence against anyone who generally organizes to oppose government?
Yes, as I recall it was a group of violent left wing radicals attacking a meeting of white supremacists. It was not a black on black thing, it was a nutjob on nutjob thing.
Old news! Bunch of white supremacists publicly advertised a get together at a local pub and those who have a problem with the supremacists dogma decided to voice their dismay physically (i.e., dogma caught up with karma, and we know karma's a bitch)!
—Is Irish a code word for something else?—
Amish.
That one cracked me up. :-D
Glad it was not the Jews again.
Amish.
Sounds like a code word for Jewish.
If you’re not packin’ in Chicago, you’re CRAZY!
I don’t CARE what their “rules” are!!!
LOL.
Amish works better as an ironic euphemism. The Irish already have a proven reputation for engaging in terroristic violence, so it doesn’t really work...
Nope, it’s a code word for either of two other ethnic persuasions. One has been known to fly planes into buildings and the other has an inordinate fondness for late night strolls and snacks of Skittles. Neither has ever been seen in large numbers raising a barn for newlyweds or neighbors, hence the “irony”.
If youre not packin in Chicago, youre CRAZY!

Indeed! I had a friend in Chicago, a retired law-enforcement officer, who carried whenever he was in public. One afternoon he was seated in his vehicle while his wife was at a nearby store, when three members of a minority approached his parked car in a menacing way, rapping on the windows and shouting at him. He pulled his jacket back so they could see what he called his two best friends, Smith and Wesson, and they left in a big hurry.
These 3 minority types were not Amish. They had thick Southern accents.
What the heck is he trying to say? The attackers were white according to the witnesses.
