Hope this clears my position up. Frankly, I barely understand it.
At least you're keeping your sense of humor about it. I think that's healthy :-) I fully acknowledge your right to take the position you're taking, and I do understand your reasoning.
We've been dealt a terrible hand in this election. I don't think many of us would have predicted this outcome before the primary began. Many of us saw that the stars were aligned for the election of a strong, Reaganesque figure. That's precisely where the pendulum has swung to, but the GOP elites were having none of it, and pulled out all of the stops to get their company man in the first position.
We should have had a candidate that provided a strong contrasting counterpoint to Obama, but instead we got someone whose politics are just a few shades off of his. It's not the right prescription to save the patient. It's weak medicine; a watered down version of the same poison we're being fed now. We'll see if the patient can even survive it.
I think we have our Reaganesque figures in Wisconsin and Alaska. I just wish they would have run. I think either Scott Walker or Sarah Palin would’ve embarrassed Romney in the primary and I also think they would wipe the mat with Chairman Obama.
That being said, I can’t sit and mourn that which didn’t happen. It’s a waste of time. You’re a 1000% right. The hand that we were dealt absolutely sucks. If we were playing Hearts, we’d only have the Queen of Spades in our hand. (If you don’t play Hearts, only having the Queen of Spades without other spades in your hand is called a Deadman’s Hand or a Black Widow hand. You have a serious shot of coughing up some serious points.)
A good Hearts player can fight his way out of a Deadman’s Hand. It takes a lot guts and guile, but it can be done. We the Conservatives can and MUST do the same. The alternative is unthinkable-—the decline and fall of the United States.
